Nichelle Nichols is finally going to space for REAL.  Her remains, along with a sample of her DNA, will be launched into space by a company called Celestis, on its appropriately named "Enterprise Flight".  The rocket that's taking her up there is called Vulcan. The flight will take place sometime this year. Nichelle played Lieutenant Uhura on the original series.

I think we already know this, but it's still mind-boggling to hear.  89-year-old Willie Nelson would rather die than retire.  It's a conversation that he and his wife Annie have had over and over. Here's another thing Willie will never stop doing.  Opening his concerts with "Whiskey River".  He's been doing it so long that nobody knows when he started.  The best guess is around 1974 . . . which means it's kicked-off about 6,500 of his shows.

Lainey Wilson was asked what kind of character she'll be playing when she makes her acting debut in the upcoming season of "Yellowstone".  Turns out she'll be playing herself.  She says, "It's pretty much me . . . I'm getting to sing my own songs, I'm getting to wear my get-up."  The only difference is her name will be Abby.

A Christmas Story is getting a new sequel with the movie's original stars, and now the project has a premiere date at HBO Max. According to Deadline, A Christmas Story Christmas — the sequel film's title — is set to premiere on the streaming service on Nov. 17. Fans of the original film who are interested in getting into the holiday spirit a little early, could watch A Christmas Story on HBO Max now, Maybe with a pumpkin spice late’....

Rita Wilson just announced her new DUETS album will be out September 27th.  And she brought in some heavy hitters to help out on it . . . It's called "Now & Forever: Duets", and it's all songs from the '70s that she grew up listening to. There are ten tracks, with a different singer joining her on each one.  They include Keith Urban . . . Willie Nelson . . . Tim McGraw . . . Vince Gill . . . Jimmie Allen . . . and Jackson Browne.

And finally, Joe E. Tata from "Beverly Hills 90210" passed away after a battle with Alzheimer's.  He was 85.  He played Nat, the owner of the Peach Pit.

Congratulations to actor/comedian Nick Cannon he has a NINTH child on the way.  It'll be his third with a model named Brittany Bell.  They already have a 5-year-old son and a 19-month-old daughter.  He actually has TEN kids, but baby Zen passed due to brain cancer last December.

Kelsea Ballerini walked the red carpet at the taping of last night's ACM Honors wearing the same white gown that Shania Twain wore at the 1999 Grammys.  It's been on display at the Grammy Museum, and Shania gave her blessing.  The 2022 ACM Honors airs September 13^th.

Trace Adkins was out promoting his Fox TV series "Monarch" when someone asked about Anne Heche, who passed away earlier this month.  Trace and Anne were both in the movie "13 Minutes", and he loved working with her. "My time with Anne was way too short.  I got to work and [spend] a couple of weeks with her,  and enjoyed every minute.  The energy she brought into the room was infectious.  She brought everybody up a bit when she'd come on set."

A Disney princess was arrested for disorderly conduct this past Friday outside Dayton, Ohio.  Irene Bedard, who provided the speaking voice for "Pocahontas".  Police saw her arguing with another woman, and then she, quote, "walked out into the street screaming, without any regard for traffic." Police said there was a strong odor of alcohol on Irene's breath, but she claimed she hadn't had anything to drink that day.  She was acting erratically, so they took her in.

Blake Shelton’s new song ‘No Body’ is taking off and if you'd like to perform the line dance featured in the new video Blake has your back.  He posted an instructional clip on Instagram, and wrote, "Free line dancing lessons, so no excuses!"

Venom Star Tom Hardy won two gold medals in a charity jiu-jitsu tournament in England.  It was in support of an organization that teaches the martial art as a form of therapy for veterans and members of the military and emergency services who experience depression and PTSD.

Keanu Reeves really IS John Wick.  A producer for the franchise said Keanu has done 90% of his own stunts in the first four movies. This statistic comes from a new book all about the series called "They Shouldn't Have Killed His Dog". To put Keanu's badassery into perspective, he turns 58 next week.  The first "John Wick" came out in 2014, making him like 49 or 50 when he started the series.  So yep, he's been doing all this stunt work throughout his 50s.

Feathers are being ruffled, The new issue of "Rolling Stone UK" has Harry Styles on the cover, and it crowns him the, quote, "New King of Pop".  As you might expect, that isn't going over well with Michael Jackson fans. Michael's own nephew Taj Jackson Tweeted, "There is no new King of Pop.  You don’t own the title Rolling Stone, and you didn't earn it, my uncle did. Decades of dedication and sacrifice.  The title has been retired.  No disrespect to Harry Styles, he's mega talented.  Give him his own unique title."

If you want to follow someone on Instagram that's always interesting, I suggest Kacey Musgraves.  She's been on tour in Japan . . . and has been sharing videos and pics on her Instagram stories. The one everyone's talking about is the clip of her eating a fried cricket.  She also posted a photo of the "deep-fried insects" section of the menu, and that features scorpions and tarantulas… ah…nope!! nope…and nope…
