First off congratulations to Chris Stapleton on his Grammy win for Best Country Album, Solo Performance and of course Brothers Osborne for Best Country Duo/Group Performance. I was glad to see no one got smacked.

Checking those trends and what people think are cool…Tesla cars are now in some places are being used to hunt ghosts in cemeteries. The trend started last October when a man posted a video of himself driving through a cemetery. His dashboard cam showed a person in front of his car even though no one was there. Glitch in the software…or…a ghost…YOU decide.

The Sun says Will Smith is allegedly heading to a celebrity sanctuary to relax. A source tells the newspaper, He’ll be doing a lot of soul searching and working out how he can move forward….Some would even say Jada shares some of that responsibility. Will's fate with the Academy will be decided on April 18th, where he COULD lose his Oscar.

Erich Church in some hot water with fans over cancelling his show Saturday in Texas to attend the Final Four game between North Carolina and Duke. Well, Erich is offering a free concert in September to make up for it. Which is nice…by the way North Carolina won 81 – 77 over Duke.

In Tulsa, Oklahoma there’s a donut shop, called Big Baby Rolls, and they’ve created Sylvester Stallone donuts. The glazed donuts have white icing and Sly's likeness on top. Because that’s what Rocky and Rambo are known for..Sylvester DID however post a video with one of the donuts. He said being on the donut is his greatest accomplishment.

Welcome to The List,
What do YOU think of Eric Church cancelling a concert to watch the Final Four this Saturday….Jason Aldean is weighing in…“I feel like people buying a ticket to come see your show, you have to hold up, you know you’re in the deal on that. I don’t think I would feel good if I did that so I don’t think I could pull it off.” Adding he understands somewhat were he’s coming from he just doesn’t think he could do it. What do YOU think of all this? Go to our Facebook Fan Page at Iowa’s Best Country KIX 101.1 and leave a comment. Look for the ‘Cancelled Show’ pic and tell us what you think?

Thomas Rhett is nominated for a Grammy for his song, 'Country Again'. He says winning a Grammy for this song would be really special. “I don’t know, maybe the stars have aligned on this one. But, this one in particular would be very special to win.” This was a song he wrote during the middle of the pandemic and never thought it would see the light of day…Thomas Rhett’s new album 'Where We Started' comes out today

Madame Tussauds in Orlando has added a Dwayne ''The Rock'' Johnson wax statue to its collection. It shows him scaling a building while wearing a white T-shirt and cargo pants.

One last thing about the Eric Church Cancellation…Bud Light will be buying a round of beer at the River Walk in San Antonio on Saturday at 8:00 P.M. That's the exact day and time the canceled Eric Church concert was supposed to happen.

The guy who produced the Oscars says the LAPD was ready to arrest Will for battery, and laid out various options to Chris, but he kept telling them no. TMZ is reporting that 66 viewers felt compelled to fire off emails to the FCC regarding the violence they witnessed on the Oscars…I guess some parents had some uncomfortable conversations with children that were watching.

Welcome to The List,
Update on the ERIC CHURCH's “ what the hell man!” His fans have been posting angry comments about him canceling his concert to go to the Final Four. Some "jumped through hoops to secure childcare and drive four hours" . . . others were "bringing the entire family" . . . and one person called it "a diva move." Some people did understand: "You did nothing wrong, Eric. You support your team at all costs" . . . and . . . "If he wants a day off to enjoy his personal life then so be it." Maybe this guy didn’t buy tickets. Eric Church canceled his concert on Saturday so he could watch North Carolina play in the Final Four. THAT game will be broadcast on TBS Saturday at 7:49

Pack the Backpack, presented by Central Office Supply, a division of Minuteman and Kix 101.1! Each month during the school year, we will be awarding $101 to a Kix Country classroom to help out with supplies. We will award the prize on the last Wednesday of the month. You can listen to each new winner at 8:30a on the Morning Kix Start.
Our March winner is Behavioral Disorder Special Education Teacher at Woodbury Elementary in Marshalltown, Mrs. Karla Saxton. She was nominated by her co-workers and here is what they wrote to Kix 101.1.:
We would like to recognize and nominate an amazing teacher who pours herself into teaching not only her students, but all students that need her support. She is always thinking of ways to help our kids be successful in the classroom but more importantly, how to be successful long term out in the “real world”. She spends her energy and her own hard-earned money on supplies to help keep her lessons fun and interactive. Who is this amazing teacher you may be asking? The one and only Karla Saxton! She is a BD Special education teacher at Woodbury Elementary School in Marshalltown. We have had the pleasure of working alongside Karla and seeing the dedication she has to helping kids grow as individuals. This year has been trying for all teachers and to be honest, they probably all deserve the $101 for school supplies. We are nominating Karla Saxton because out of so many educators, she has shined so bright during this year's struggles and could not only use the money but also just knowing the fact that her work and dedication has not gone unnoticed.Thank you for your consideration.
Respectfully,
Two additional tired teachers, Marlene Current & Holly Carter
Take a listen to our surprise interview with Mrs. Karla Saxton below!
Nominate your Kix Country class by submitting a letter to us at backpack@kixweb.com.
