The List for Tuesday, October 4th 2022

Welcome to The List,

Will Smith's new movie "Emancipation" will hit theaters on December 2nd . . . making it eligible for next year's Oscars. Even if Will gets nominated, he can't be there.  He's serving a 10-year ban for slapping Chris Rock at this year's ceremony. "Emancipation" is based on the true story of a runaway slave who escapes to the North and joins the Union Army.

-----

"House of the Dragon" fans are up in arms over Episode 7 because scenes were so dark they could barely tell what was going on. Some viewers called the episode "unwatchable" . . . and one even claimed it was, quote, "literally a whole episode of black screen." Well, HBO has responded to a fan saying quote, "We appreciate you reaching out about a night scene in House of the Dragon: Episode 7 appearing dark on your screen.  The dimmed lighting of this scene was an intentional creative decision.  Thanks!"

There's still no word on Coolio's cause of death.  But sources close to him say he had severe asthma, and that may have been a contributing factor. Apparently, he struggled with asthma over the years and traveled with several inhalers to keep it in check.  He would even use them onstage sometimes.  Coolio died in the bathroom of a friend's house in L.A. last Wednesday.  The friend had to break down the door to get to him.  When paramedics arrived, they worked on Coolio for 45 minutes before pronouncing him dead. Coolio was 59.

Some have cats…some have dogs…some have Bison??  Chase Rice has…Bison!!  CMT's "Hot 20" visited his Nashville farm . . . and when he opened a bag of feed, his herd of bison came trotting in for lunch. He said, quote, "During quarantine I had all this land, but I didn't have any of the fencing.  I thought about cattle.  Didn't really want to do that.  I love bison.  I love the west.  [These] are my pets.  It's weird.  I get that.  But they're awesome."

-----

Reba McEntire's "Live in Concert" tour kicks off October 13th, but she's already announcing dates for next year.  She'll pick it up March 9th in Jacksonville, Florida and take it into mid-April.  Terri Clark and The Isaacs are the openers.

-----

The List for Monday, October 3rd 2022

Welcome to The List,

Not so fast!!!  It turns out Bruce Willis did NOT sign over the rights to his likeness as reported last week.  But that doesn't mean Deepfake Bruce won't show up in future projects.  Bruce's people issued a statement saying he has "no partnership or agreement" with Deepcake, the company he supposedly sold his rights to. But they did create Bruce's "digital twin" for an ad campaign in Russia last year . . .

Hardy's tour bus overturned and crashed around 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning just outside Nashville.  He and three other people were on the bus, and all received "significant injuries." Everyone EXCEPT the driver was released from the hospital.  In a statement Hardy released yesterday he says "Our tour bus was in an accident on our way home from Bristol, Tennessee. "Our friend, and bus driver needs your prayers as he is still in the hospital.   Hardy's doctors have ordered him to stay home and recover for the next few weeks,

-----

Jason Bateman's been in showbiz a long time, and he's met a lot of people.  On "Jimmy Kimmel Live" Friday night, Jimmy was quizzing him on famous people he's met, and Michael Jackson's name came up.  Jason revealed that he and Ricky Schroder met Michael when they were doing "Silver Spoons" in the early '80s. Quote, "We'd need to have our bikes because kids gotta play.  Michael was there to see [Schroder] . . . [Jackson] was coming onto the stage while we were zooming off and almost took him down." The crowd laughs and he says, quote, "I don't … listen, hey!  He was a fan of the show and a fan of the Ricker!"

-----

Brobible says Terry Bradshaw addressed rumors about his health over the weekend. Fans became concerned last weekend when he struggled during Fox Football's postgame show. Terry tells Heavy.com, “People are saying that I’m sick and I’m dying, okay, so let’s put that rumor to rest.  I’m not gonna deny I’ve had two bouts of cancer, one in November and a different one in March — two different cancers. I have a lung issue from surgery where a nerve was blocked and what is happening primarily now is asthma.’..I’m not sick, I’m not dying.

-----

Kelly Clarkson had never been drunk while recording music, until she went into the studio to do her part on, you guessed it, "You're Drunk, Go Home".  She talked about it on Friday's "Kelly Clarkson Show".,Kelsea Ballerini was the guest, "I get in the studio and said, 'Look, I didn't know I was going to be singing today.  So I had to sing a song called 'You're Drunk, Go Home', inebriated."  It sounded like a fun session, though.  She said there's an outtake of her, quote, "crying and laughing so hard I almost peed my pants."

-----

If you had to guess, who do you think is taller:  Maren Morris or Shaquille O'Neal?  If you think it might be Maren . …you'd be wrong.  Maren performed at an event benefitting Shaq's foundation this weekend, and she posted a pic of them together, and it's proof that Shaq is (a LOT)

The List for Friday, September 30th 2022

Welcome to The List,

Bruce Willis has retired because of his aphasia diagnosis, but don’t think that’s going to stop him from making movies…Well, sorta.  Last year he sold the rights to his image to an artificial intelligence company called Deepcake.  So basically, there's a "digital twin" of Bruce that can be used to make new film projects.  To make A.I. Bruce, Deepcake used content from "Die Hard" and "The Fifth Element" . . . so he looks how he did in those movies.

-----

If it seems like Alan Jacksonhas been around for your whole lifetime, well, he probably has.  CMT will honor him with an "Artist of a Lifetime" award during the "CMT Artists of the Year" on Friday, October 14th.  Alan says he's "proud" of this "sweet honor."  He will turn 63 three days later, on the 17th

-----

Trevor Noah announced yesterday that he's leaving "The Daily Show" after seven years.  Trevor said he misses doing stand-up comedy, traveling to other countries, and learning other languages.  So, it sounds like he already has a plan for what's next. Although he didn’t say WHEN exactly his last day would be.

-----

Jason Aldean shared a photo of Hurricane Ian's damage done to boats.  He said, quote, "Florida is our second home and we have lots of friends and family down there . . . We are thinking about everybody who is dealing with the fallout."  Jason has a house in Florida, but it doesn't sound like it was hit.

-----

It’s not a spoiler to reveal that John Dutton (Kevin Costner) character in Yellowstone becomes governor of Montana in season five. In fact, it’s the opening scene of the trailer for the coming season of the Paramount Network hit. John announced his candidacy and secured the endorsement of the outgoing governor during the show’s fourth season — seemingly to spite Jamie, who was set to run for the post himself. The campaign, it appears, was a successful one.  Yellowstone season 5 premieres Nov. 13.

-----

And lastly…new music out today!!

  • "Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville", This is her third album.  The songs are based on characters living in a fictional town called Lindeville.
  • "Country Born", Drew Baldridge.  This is his second album.
  • "Barstool Whiskey Wonderland", Adam Doleac. This is his first full-length album.  Danielle Bradbery guest stars on the track, "Fake Love".
