The List for Wednesday, February 22nd 2023

Welcome to The List,

Straying from the country side for a moment…Fans of glam rock are in luck – Mr. Big is moving forward with plans for a reunion tour in 2023. The ‘To Be With You’ band has been promising a comeback for years, especially after the tragic death of original drummer Pat Torpey in 2018. Now, frontman Eric Martin says that they are ready to hit the road and honor their late friend.

-----

Cobra Kai fans are in an emotional quandary right now as they wait for Season 6 to premiere on Netflix. Last month, Netflix officially announced that Season 6 was in the works, but also that it would be the final season of the show.  Cobra Kai has become one of the most popular Netflix original series in the entire catalog, and six seasons is a pretty good run by the streamer's standards.

-----

Blake Shelton is allegedly "miserable" in his marriage to Gwen Stefani. According to Radar Online, the pair were spotted not having a good time at NASCAR's Busch Light Clash.  Stefani spent part of the event doing commentary for Fox. Later, however, sources claimed that the singer and her country star husband appeared unhappy…I would probably say ‘bored’…Do the cars get above 50 miles per hour in that small space?

-----

Alan Jackson's CMT disorder won't be keeping him out of the studio.  During an interview on his daughter Mattie's "In-Joy Life" podcast he said he doesn't tour much, but the "creative part jumps out now and then" . . . and he feels like there WILL be new music on the way.

-----

Radar Online claims 76 year old Cher is allegedly planning to elope with her 37 year old boyfriend Alexander Edwards…and the public reacts! (crickets)

-----

Jo Dee Messina is on tour right now, and as an ode to her 1996 hit, it's called the "Heads Carolina, Tails California" tour.  It kicked off in North Carolina last week and will wrap up in California in November with a stop at Tailgates N’ Tallboys in Clinton Iowa June 9th.  She's also releasing a greatest hits album next month.

The List for Tuesday, February 21st 2023

Welcome to The List,

Four former presidents of the United States are going into space later this year . . . or at least parts of them are. Hair samples from George Washington, JFK, Dwight Eisenhower, and Ronald Reagan will be shot into space by Celestis, a company that specializes in blasting human remains into space. They'll share the ride with a hair sample from "Star Trek" star DeForest Kelley . . . and the ashes of his co-star Nichelle Nichols….why?  Because they're Hollywood and it doesn't take a lot to send stuff into space on a model rocket...

-----

Have you even made it in country music, if you haven't been given a nickname?  A list of the best nicknames in country music includes "King George" for George Strait, "Chief" for Eric Church, and "Toad" for Blake Shelton.  Others include, Big Dog Daddy: Toby Keith, Possum:  George Jones and Duckman: Riley Green…

Jimmie Allen talks to Sherri Shepherd on her show about why he would never sing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl.  “I am a country artist ok?  Let alone I am a BLACK country artist, if I mess up the National Anthem…I am DONE, I better get a new career!!” He would rather learn sign language and sign it…

-----

The NY Post says a firearm enhancement charge against Alec Baldwin has been dropped. He is accused of shooting cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of their movie "Rust". The dropping of the charge means Alec now faces a maximum of 18 months in prison for manslaughter.  He was facing five years, if convicted, Apparently the charge they initially filed wasn’t on the books when the incident happened…

-----

Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie were brought to tears by 18-year-old Iam Tongi as the aspiring artist brought a heart-wrenching tribute to his late father to the Season 21 premiere of American Idol Sunday. Tongi himself got emotional as he introduced himself to Bryan, Richie and Katy Perry during his audition, revealing his father was the one who taught him everything he knows about music. If you didn’t see it live…you can see it here...I'll warn ya, I had to stop the video after only a couple minutes....

Kane Brown tells Music Mayhem magazine that there's nothing better than being a girl dad. “My girls are my world. I love being a girl dad. I'm gonna make sure they have everything to succeed in life. Those girls are my world."
