The List for Monday, February 5th 2023

Welcome to The List,

What’s good for Dolly….well, is good for Carrie!!! Carrie Underwood may record a rock album. Wide Open Country quotes her as saying, "I mean, you never really know with me. I think, more than anything. I love going to rock concerts because it feels like freedom to me."

-----

Entertainment Tonight says Megan Fox attended several Grammy's parties with Machine Gun Kelly even though she had a concussion and a broken wrist. She did not say how she suffered the injuries. We CAN say for sure…it didn’t come from a Transformers movie…

-----

Jordan Davis tells CMT that he tries to live his life by a movie quote. Saying "One of the deepest movie quotes I ever heard was from "Ferris Bueller's Day Off." It was “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” I think we all need to slow down every once in a while, and appreciate the world around us and the people in it."

-----

Fox News says Mark Hamill is signing Star Wars posters to benefit the Ukraine. He says the money is going to help the country in their fight against Russia. Saying “They’re for real hardcore collectors — especially those that have disposable income — you can get way more money … than you would imagine." I guess the $113 – Billion the U.S. Government has given Ukrain already just isn’t cutting it.

-----

Shania Twain’s favorite job before becoming a country star?. She tells Entertainment Tonight, "I worked at McDonald's in several departments, but I loved the drive-thru. I always love, like, 'Welcome to McDonald's, can I take your order please?

-----

And we end with some movie news….M. Night Shyamalan's "Knock at the Cabin" overtook "Avatar: The Way of Water" at the box office with a $14.2 million opening which at least $12 of that is mine. We saw the movie over the weekend and it was better than I thought it was going to be…Ridley Scott's "Gladiator" sequel will hit theaters in 2024…Woody Harrelson will host "Saturday Night Live" on February 25th with musical guest Jack White.

The List for Friday, February 3rd 2023

Welcome to The List,

Well the question has finally been put to rest…no not the “Is Die Hard a Christmas movie” obviously….it is….After an exhaustive experiment, James Cameron admits that Jack might have been able to survive at the end of "Titanic", but he adds that there are a lot of variables.  Still, if he could go back, he would make the piece of floating debris smaller so there's no debate…I think he just didn’t like Jack.

-----

People magazine says Gisele Bundchen has no plans to reconcile with Tom Brady now that he's retired. A source tells the magazine, “Gisele moved on with her life quite a while ago and is happy about whatever Tom chooses to do with his life now.

-----

Reba McEntire said no to "The Voice" when it was still in development 12 years ago.  Somebody asked if she'd reconsider now that Blake Shelton has left.  Same answer.  Still not interested.

-----

John Wick 4 is on the way….Keanu Reeves tells Total Film magazine that he is not sure if he is going to make a fifth.  He says I think we have to wait and see how the audience responds to it. Hopefully they’ll like it.''  John Wick chapter 4 hits theaters March 24th.

-----

The history of the Duttons will continue to play out on the small screen. Paramount+ has officially renewed its Yellowstone prequel series 1923 for a second season after the Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford-starring drama scored massive ratings throughout the first half of its debut season. Deadline confirmed the news early Friday morning, though details about the upcoming season were not shared at this time. The renewal came just days before 1923 returns Sunday with a new episode.

------

Kelsea Ballerini will be featured on the third installment of "CMT Storytellers", which will air on February 16th.  There's an exclusive preview online, where she's performing an acoustic version of "If You Go Down (I'm Goin' Down Too)".

-----

For those who remember “Matlock” with Andy Griffith from 1986 – 1995…Well, it’s coming back only this time Kathy Bates will be taking the lead as Madeline Matlock rejoining the work force at a prestigious law firm where she uses her unassuming demeanor and wily tactics to win cases and expose corruption from within." The NEW “Matlock” will air on CBS.

-----

Shania Twain revealed she sticks to a liquid diet on show days and doesn't eat solid foods . . . because otherwise, she BURPS too much.  Quote, "If I eat on a show day . . . I burp when I sing." Well that’s unfortunate…

-----

Country Now reports Zach Bryan wants you to know that he's a man of his word, but sometimes plans change.  Last September he promised to release a new album THIS month.  Well, it's not going happen, and wow, does he feel bad about it.  Here's what he Tweeted on Tuesday, "Decided not to release an album in February.  I love you guys and I apologize I said something I didn't stick to.  Mercy here, please.  Going to let my life play out."

-----

TMZ says Buffalo Bills star Damar Hamlin recently appeared at a taping for next season's 'The Masked Singer'. Photos from the set show Damar holding a football and smiling on stage alongside host Nick Cannon. Damar's name is in big red letters on the screen behind him. He attended the taping alongside his younger brother, Damir.

The List for Wednesday, February 1st 2023

Welcome to The List,

Who has the secret to looking young? Well, THAT would probably be Paul Rudd!!  In an interview for "Men's Health", he said, quote, “Eight hours of sleep, then diet.  Then weights.  Then cardio.  The most important part of training is sleep.  I get up and I have a cup of coffee, and then I do cardio before I eat anything.  I never would've done that before ['Ant-Man'].  I lift weights, hopefully at least three times a week."

-----

"Dr. Phil" is throwing in the towel!!!  He’s ending his decades long talk show. So after the current season, which will conclude this spring.  The show debuted in 2002.  Phil says, quote, "While I'm moving on from daytime, there is so much more I wish to do."

-----

"Bad Boys 4" is officially happening.  In an Instagram video, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence joke about how the third movie was called "Bad Boys for Life", and they should have saved that title for this one…which I don’t know how excited I am about this, I didn’t see the last one…Hopefully, it doesn't conflict with Jada's schedule for "G.I. Jane 2".

-----

Ever wonder WHY Willie smokes so much weed?  Well in an E!Online interview he says it saved his life and explains it like this…”It not only saved my life, it probably saved some other people's lives.  Because, before I smoked marijuana, I was drinking a lot.  And I might have killed a lot of people, too.  So I'm just glad that that didn't happen”.  His wife does all of his cooking and says he doesn’t eat much…but he loves his protein shakes…what no munchies?

-----

How much does TV shows affect our lives? Well, Yellowstone for example has inspired the most baby names last year…the top three names?  Dutton, Rip and Kayce…

-----

Reba McEntire is getting her own COMIC.  She isn’t joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe . . . yet . . . this is a 26-page comic covering her career.  There will be three formats . . . a hard cover, a soft cover, and a digital edition . . .  and they'll all be available on March 22nd. 26 pages seems a little light to cover a career spanning more than four decades . . . but it sounds like they ARE cramming it into one volume.

You can catch The List, weekdays at 2:20 and 4:20 on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
