Turns out the death of awards shows was greatly exaggerated. Sunday's "CMT Music Awards" had a total of 5.43 million viewers . . . which was the show's largest audience ever. Final numbers are expected to be even higher, with CBS projecting a total of 5.68 million viewers when you include Paramount+ livestreams.  Speaking of that, it was the most-streamed show of the night on Paramount+.

Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s new movie in theaters this weekend is “Air” a story about a Nike shoe salesman Sonny Vaccaro working to sign Michael Jordan to a deal..  Ben talks about what Michael Jordan requested for the film. “A number of things, I’m not sure I’m at liberty to share everything.  But, what I will tell you is that Viola Davis plays his mother.”  “Air” is in theaters this weekend.

Luke Combs is asking fans to VOTE which song he should release as his next single for radio.  And he's giving an incentive.  If you enter, you might win a flyaway to one of his concerts.  The two song choices are "5 Leaf Clover" and "Love You Anyway" off his latest album, "Gettin' Old".  He'll announce the winner at his Nashville show next Wednesday.

Kane Brown was on “The Talk” ... His acting debut is tonight on “Fire Country” He’s on a train that derails fire everywhere and he was so happy to be there he says when he exits the train for the first time…and he was supposed to be serious, but when he saw the set…the fire…and everything he smiled…they had to stop and remind him he was supposed to be serious…he was just so happy to be there…I would LIKE to be in an Avengers movie…Kane Brown makes his acting debut on “Fire Country” tonight on CBS.

We haven’t heard a lot from Michael J Fox, until now….He has produced a documentary that just looks great!! How serious are they about this new live action “Barbie” movie? Well, Mashed magazine says a pop-up Malibu Barbie Cafe is being opened in New York and Chicago to celebrate the release. The cafe will have a brunch style menu with food, drinks and dessert. It will resemble the Malibu Barbie beach house. Tickets just to eat at the pop-up cost $50 for adults and $35 for children.

The trailer for the new live-action Barbie movie debuted earlier this week. Starbucks has added a Barbie Frappuccino to their secret menu.  Meanwhile, people are making fun of Ryan Gosling after seeing the trailer for his new live action Barbie movie. He plays Ken and has short blonde hair. People are comparing him to Ellen. The Barbie movie hits theaters July 21^st.

You may have noticed that Shania Twain has had a FEW different colors in her hair.. from her natural brown to hot pink to bright red to most recently a copper color.  Well,, she says she’s noticed some gray in her hair so she going to have fun with it. She might change her hair color every week…somehow I don’t think that’s healthy for her hair…

The 2023 "MTV Movie & TV Award" nominees are out.  "Top Gun: Maverick", "Stranger Things", and "The Last of Us" lead with six nominations each.  The show airs live on May 7th withDrew Barrymore as host.

Ben Affleck tries not to get carried away at his 11-year-old son's basketball games.  He says, quote, "We want to help our children.  We want them to succeed . . . And yet the real challenge is to get out of the way and let them do it on their own." It’s really hard to not to grab the bateraing and hang a ref by his toes.

Darius Rucker tells Fox News that fame does have its downside. “Being away from your kids. That’s the only hard part. Everything else is gravy. But, you know, being away from the family and not seeing them as much as you can … is tough, but it’s your job.”

As Lainey Wilson's country music career continues to soar, the singer recently taking home two wins at the 2023 CMT Music Awards following the release of her album Bell Bottom Country, the country star is hoping that her acting career will, too.  We don’t know if she’s part of the next season of ‘Yellowstone’, but she says acting is a new goal.  She’d like to do more of it.

"Shrek 5" might finally be happening . . . with Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, and Eddie Murphy returning as Shrek, Fiona, and Donkey. The CEO of the animation company, Illumination, said that he and DreamWorks want to revive the franchise.  Eddie has previously said that he'd return in "two seconds" to voice Donkey again,  and would even like to see his own spin-off movies.

Bailey Zimmerman used to have a “real job” working long hours so how did he make the connection to the music world well, he Says it Started With Him Losing His Job ... “So, it actually started…I got laid off…I strung pipe on the pipeline. I built gas pipelines you know all over America and I’ve done that since I was 18 and I’ve got laid off and I never looked back from day one I knew I was gonna make it work somehow, someway.”  Well, it looks like he made the right decision…his newest single “Rock and a Hard Place” is getting great reviews.

We are wishing Matt Ramsey "No Bad Vibes" after his ATV accident. Last week the Old Dominion front man took to social media to share the scary news of fracturing his pelvis. Today Matt gives fans an update on his recovery and even shared that his walker is now named "Walker Hayes" thanks to bandmate Trevor.  Taking to social media saying this…"Thank you for all your messages, they are helping me get stronger. "Unfortunately, I'm not strong enough to make it up on the bus yet." While in good Spirits, Matt was visual bummed that shows had to be postponed...We will make it up to you"

And lastly, Maddie & Tae really ARE a team.  Maddie Marlow has announced that she and her husband Jonah are expecting their first child, a son, in September.  Tae [Taylor] Kerr had her baby a little over a year ago, so now they'll be trading diaper stories while on tour.

Disney is becoming more and more about turning their animated hits into live-action.  The latest is “Moana”. Dwayne Johnson will be returning as the demigod Maui.  He will also produce.  He made the announcement yesterday with a short video filmed in Oahu, Hawaii with his two younger daughters. Saying "This story is my culture and is emblematic of our people’s grace and warrior strength.  I wear this culture proudly on my skin and in my soul . . .

Tyler Hubbard’s song “Dancing In The Country” his first solo project is doing well…He got to perform is at the CMT music awards.  If you’ve seen the video for the song you can tell EVERYONE is having a great time, including “America’s Got Talent” star Terry Crews. “He’s one of the coolest dudes in the world, super laid-back and down-to-earth and funny and humble and just everything you hoped he would be. He came in and crushed it.” Adding it was probably one of his favorite video’s he’s ever been a part of.

A "Harry Potter" TV series is in the works, and if it happens, it'll probably end up at HBO Max. This won't be a spin-off series like the "Fantastic Beasts" movies.  Instead, each season will be related to one of the "Harry Potter" books.  It's not clear what, if any, characters we already know will be involved. J.K. Rowling WILL have some creative input, but she won't be the primary creator or showrunner.

Even if remakes and reboots aren't your thing, the new "Fatal Attraction" series that's coming to Paramount+ might be worth watching, because it has a compelling twist.  In addition to showing the affair between Dan Gallagher and Alex Forrest that causes so much chaos, and the boiling of a bunny no less, it also flashes forward to 15 years later, when Dan is getting out of prison for Alex's murder. In a new trailer, Dan . . . played by Joshua Jackson . . . says, quote, "Every day that I have been in [prison] I have thought about Alexandra Forrest, because I need to understand what I did, how she died and why." He also says, quote, "I did not kill that woman, and I'm going to prove it."

And lastly, Last week The Band Perry announced they're going on hiatus. Well, shocker, yesterday Kimberly Perry shared that she's starting her solo career.
