The List for Thursday, May 4th 2023

Welcome to The List,

We start today by wishing you a happy Thursday and May the 4th be with you and In recognition of "Star Wars" Day today, Fandom.com analyzed data from its site to determine which movie from the Skywalker Saga is the most popular in each state. In Iowa 1983’s ‘Return Of The Jedi’…was the favorite.  It's not so shocking that "A New Hope" has the highest number of states, with 11.  But it IS shocking that it's TIED at that number with "The Phantom Menace". What's even MORE shocking is that "The Empire Strikes Back", which most people consider the BEST "Star Wars" movie, leads in only THREE states. I'm not sure these counts would hold up to legit scrutiny.  Or, to put it another way . . . I detect a disturbance in the Force...

-----

We have updated news on Jamie Foxx, he’s still in the hospital, more than three weeks after suffering what has still only been described as a "medical complication." But yesterday, either he or someone on his team posted a message on Instagram, saying, quote, "Appreciate all the love!!!  Feeling blessed." Still, friends of the family are telling the media that he still needs all the prayers and well wishes his fans can give. Also, Jamie and his daughter Corrinne will not appear on Season 6 of "Beat Shazam".  Nick Cannon will take over as host.

-----

Toby Keith on the mend after being diagnosed with stomach cancer…will host his 19th annual Golf Classic on June 2nd and 3rd in Oklahoma to benefit the OK Kids Korral.  There will also be a silent auction with celebrity memorabilia from Taylor Swift, Dolly Parton, and more and a performance from Sawyer Brown. Toby went through six months of Chemo, radiation and surgery and hopes to see fans sooner than later.

-----

It's still not official yet, but it's really starting to look like Kevin Costner is leaving "Yellowstone". "Entertainment Tonight" heard from a "source close to the production" that he's done after Season 5.  It's supposedly because of drama between Costner and the show's co-creator Taylor Sheridan. Speaking of Kevin . . . sources are telling TMZ that he was totally blindsided by his wife's divorce filing, and he's devastated.

-----

Tim McGraw celebrated his 56th birthday on Monday, so Faith Hill made his favorite Southern meal of pot roast, rice and gravy, peas, cornbread, collard greens, and sweet tea.  He was SO amped about it, he asked for it to be moved up earlier in the day, from dinner to lunch…the man had to get to the gym!!

-----

And lastly, Thomas Rhett tells the Des Moines Register that three of his daughters can't tour with him until the Summer. “As we have had a million kids ... three of them are in school now so I think we’re kind of waiting until the Summertime until we bring them out on the road.''

As you've probably heard, Hollywood writers are ON STRIKE.  The Writers Guild of America voted to strike after they couldn't make a deal by Tuesday morning at midnight. The List for Monday, May 1st 2023

Welcome to The List,

Happy Birthday to Willie Nelson!!  BroBible says Willie celebrated his 90th birthday with a concert at the Hollywood Bowl on Saturday night. Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton, The Chicks, Ziggy Marley and other stars helped Willie sing some of his classics. Owen Wilson, Ethan Hawke, Jennifer Garner and Helen Mirren were in attendance. Snoop Dogg and Willie sang “Roll Me Up And Smoke Me When I Die.”

-----

Brett Young and his wife broke up many times before they got married, if fact he says the experience was one of his biggest influences in his writing.  So if he was to give “advice” on marriage…it would be… “One that I was given, that really, really worked for us when we first got married, was just because you’re married doesn’t mean you can stop dating. You gotta keep dating, and you have to make time, you have to be intentional about setting dates. That worked for us, now we have two young girls, and we like, for a second we forgot to do that. We thought, okay, everything is given to the kids now, and that’s acceptable. That’s what you should do. You love your children, you give them everything. You can’t stop making time, you know.''

-----

And if you haven’t seen it yet? "The Super Mario Brothers Movie" hit $1 BILLION at the global box office…
