The List for Thursday, September 21st 2023

Welcome to The List,

It's about time to start picking your Halloween watch list.  2,000 people were asked and most said they like spooky movies that are eerie the rest loved the really scary movies…Freddy Krueger from "A Nightmare on Elm Street" was voted the most iconic horror film antagonist.  He was followed by Chucky from "Child's Play" and Ghostface from "Scream".

-----

People Magazine says Garth Brooks recently baked a chocolate cake for his wife Trisha Yearwood's 59th birthday. It was the first time Garth made a cake. Trisha was impressed and called it the sweetest gift he has ever given her.

-----

There's been talk recently that Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson could actually be brothers.  And it turns out that talk was started by Matthew's own mother, Kay.  It came up on a casual conversation while on vacation.  She told the boys that sha and Woody’s dad used to frequent the same place out in West Texas. Apparently, Kay was separated from Matthew's dad right around the time she "knew" Woody's father.  So…

-----

This is just a little TOO perfect:  Taylor Swift was spotted out on the town in New York City on Tuesday night, arm-in-arm with . . . SOPHIE TURNER.  Sophie just announced her split from Joe Jonas . . . who just happens to also be Taylor's ex.  What . . . or WHO . . . do you think Taylor and Sophie talked about? Taylor and Joe dated about 15 years ago . . . which should make you feel incredibly old.  And Taylor claimed that he broke up with her in a 27-second phone call.

-----

Carrie Underwood says she's focused on limiting her kids' technology use as much as possible. "Even television, I notice if they kind of watch too much TV, they have an attitude shift and I’m like, 'Why are you moody? Sometimes they’ve learned a lot from different television programs and movies and stuff like that. But it’s a struggle.”

-----

Of course Gwen Stefani misses her husband, Blake, on the set of "The Voice." She tells NBC that "It’s really different being on the show without him, but at the same time, it hasn’t been as hard as I thought it was going to be." Because maybe now she’ll have a chance to win.

The List for Wednesday, September 20th 2023

Welcome to The List,

Our country's great financial standoff is officially over:  Vanna White is returning to the “Wheel of Fortune". She extended her run through the 2025 - '26 season, taking her two years into Ryan Seacrest's run as host. There's no word how much Vanna's making, but sources say she got a "substantial increase" from the $3 million salary she's been earning for the past 18 years.

-----

Parmalee's Matt Thomas tells The Tennessean that their motto is to 'just keep it going'.  Saying, you gotta keep it going. Especially in country — if you're not really on the radio, [people are] like, 'Where'd y'all go?' We've been right here, working just as hard as we've been working. Even harder.

-----

Call it a Christmas miracle:  Even though strikes have brought Hollywood to a standstill, Hallmark has 40 all-new, original holiday movies in the pipeline for this year. No, they didn't break the strike.  They didn't even get exemptions.  They just ramped up production when it became obvious that the strike was coming. The festivities kick off on Friday, October 20th.

-----

Rumors of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce dating or not, swirling around.  Life & Style Weekly says Travis shared his dating deal breakers and turn offs. He dislikes snooty attitudes and high maintenance behavior. You have to be grounded. You have to have some sort of balanced lifestyle. High maintenance I’m out the door.” Well, nothing has been confirmed just yet between them. But based off THAT alone…Good luck Taylor.

-----

You may have noticed Dan + Shay star Shay Mooney is getting svelte lately and he tells Billboard magazine that he is proof anyone can get in shape. He just decided one day he was sick of being tired all the time and wanted to be in better shape. He changed his entire lifestyle for six months and got the results he wanted. And adds “if I'm able to do it, then everybody else can too."

-----

Doritos recently set a new world record by using a helicopter to dip a giant chip into cheese. The cheese stretched for 49 feet without breaking.

The List for Tuesday, September 19th 2023

Welcome to The List,

Celebrities have been auctioning themselves off to raise money for Hollywood strike relief. As of last night, the high bid to have John Lithgow paint a watercolor portrait of your dog was $4,450 . . But the auction has led to some hilarious memes, with people making up FAKE celebrity auctions. For example, The Cullins (from "Twilight") turn you into a vampire or get drunk with the cast of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" as they belittle and insult you while they stay in full character.

-----

Brian Kelley responded to a recent Instagram poll that asked fans whether they thought Florida Georgia Line would reunite within two years. The vote appeared relatively close, with a majority responding in favor of the duo reforming.  Kelley, one half of the hit-making duo with fellow singer-songwriter Tyler Hubbard, shared the poll results on his Instagram story on Monday and replied: “Respectfully I can tell you that’s not happening.” They didn’t break up…they’re just taking a break.

-----

Will there be a “John Wick 5”? Well, the producer of the "John Wick" movies, Basil Iwanyk, says that Keanu Reeves wanted his character to be "definitively" killed at the end of "John Wick 4". Of course, we know that DIDN'T happen.  The producers and filmmakers told him, quote, "We'll leave a 10% little opening."

-----

Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios is particularly terrifying this year, thanks to the addition of . . . Taylor Swift.  Or at least, the THREAT of Taylor Swift. Somebody who was there Sunday night recorded a message that played over the p.a. system when the show was closing. The guy said, quote, "The rides are closed, mazes are closed there is no reason to stay here any longer.  You don't have to go home but you can't stay here.  We only have 7 hours to get the park ready for tomorrow . . . "Hit the bricks, take a hike gather your belongings and your drunk friends and go or we start playing Taylor Swift at full volume."

-----

Chris Stapleton shared a tease of himself singing the new "Monday Night Football" theme that debuted last night.  It's a cover of the Phil Collins classic "In The Air Tonight" and it also features Snoop Dogg, plus Cindy Blackman Santana on drums.

And lastly, Jelly Roll was recently performing in concert when he invited a young girl, with fake tattoos on her face, on stage to sing  "Save Me" with him.  The girl gave Jelly Roll a big hug before singing

The List for Monday, September 18th 2023

Welcome to The List,

I want to ahead and get this out of the way…Maren Morris says she's walking away from country music.  That’s it…the reasons don’t matter to me…

-----

If you’re interested in such things…The Daily Mail says Jean-Claude Van Damme and Steven Seagal almost fought in Sylvester Stallone's back yard in 1997 in front of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, and Shaquille O'Neal. Van Damme was tired of Seagal claiming he could beat him, so he challenged him outside. Seagal wanted none of it."

-----

Alan Jackson celebrated what would've been Hank Williams' 100th birthday yesterday with an acoustic cover of "Your Cheatin' Heart".  He says, quote, "I don't think I'd be here without you."  Hank passed away at the young age of 29 back in 1953.

-----

HARDY will be presented with the ACM Artist-Songwriter of the Year award at next week’s Academy of Country Music Honors, and his pal Bailey Zimmerman celebrated the accomplishment with a soulful performance of “Signed, Sober You”.  Watch the ACM Honors on Monday Sept. 18 at 7pm on Fox.

-----

Geo TV says Ben Affleck is allegedly having trouble standing up to his controlling wife, Jennifer Lopez. Therapy helps keep them together. A source says, "Lopez feels the need to micromanage Ben's life to an extreme degree. Now Ben's so badgered and browbeaten he doesn't have the strength to stand up for himself."

-----

And lastly, There's a chance Aaron Rodgers could return this season . . . especially if the Jets make the playoffs…Not if they keep playing like they did last night against the Cowboys.  Jets lost 30-10…
