The List for Wednesday, November 15th 2023

Welcome to The List,

The "Friends" cast issued a joint statement after Matthew Perry's death.  But yesterday, Matt LeBlanc and Courteney Cox each posted their own tributes on Instagram.  LeBlanc posted several pictures with Matthew and said, quote, "It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye.  The times we had together are honestly among the favorite times of my life. "It was an honor to share the stage with you and to call you my friend.  I will always smile when I think of you and I'll never forget you.  Never.  Spread your wings and fly brother.  You're finally free.  "Much love.  And I guess you're keeping the 20 bucks you owe me."

-----

Jana Kramer welcomed her third child, her first with fiancé Allan Russell.  She has a four-year-old and a seven-year-old from her previous marriage. Now, baby makes..well 5 really….

-----

Could Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney from Rascal Flatts be working on music WITHOUT singer Gary LeVox?  They both posed for a selfie after hanging out in a recording studio. Rascal Flatts fans are still hoping that the trio will be able to reunite for their planned final tour, that they never got and that's not entirely off the table — at least, not for DeMarcus.

-----

Cody Johnson is all tatted up.  Including one tattoo that's in a very weird spot:  The bottom of his FOOT.  Someone asked him if he has more tattoos than Jelly Roll.  He said he's not sure, because he's never seen Jelly with his shirt off.  Then he started listing all the places HE has them . . . including one on the ARCH of his foot. So, what's the tattoo, and WHY?  He answered the why question first:  Alcohol.  The tattoo itself has a story.  It was inspired by his favorite Waylon Jennings song, "I've Always Been Crazy".  Specifically, the lyric, "I've always been different, with one foot over the line." The tattoo is the number "1" . . . then an apostrophe for the word "foot" . . . and it's underlined.  So, "1 foot" over a line.

-----

You've probably noticed in recent years that "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" hasn't aired on ABC.  Well, it's because Apple acquired the rights to the "Peanuts" catalog back in 2020. But to show some holiday spirit and in recognition of the special's 50th anniversary, Apple TV+ will allow non-subscribers to watch it for FREE this Saturday and Sunday, the 18th and 19th.

-----

And finally, NBC's annual "Christmas in Rockefeller Center" special air live November 29th.

You can catch The List, Weekdays at 2:20 and 4:20 on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1

The List for Tuesday, November 14th 2023

Welcome to The List,

Apparently, someone wants Morgan Wallen to change his style!!  While performing in Atlanta over the weekend, singing “Wasted On You” someone thought it would be a good idea to throw a cowboy hat on stage.  It landed in his lap and he brushed it off without missing a beat. (Here's video.  He did a similar thing earlier this year when someone threw a cowboy boot at him.)

-----

So, what’s the latest on the “Seinfeld” reunion?  According to Jason Alexander…HE has no idea!!  He says no ones called him so apparently, they don’t need George or Elaine because no ones called Julia Louis-Dreyfus or Michael Richards.  So, it looks like either Jason is trying to keep a secret . . . Jerry is prematurely teasing something . . . OR the rest of the cast really isn't needed.

-----

Newsflash!! Jelly Roll like Morgan Wallen is Cutting His Mullet ... He got rid of his mullet and he misses it so much and thinks about it all the time.  “The right side it almost straightened out, I had natural curls it was awesome.“  He says it was almost straightened out because he was pulling on his curls like a girl.

-----

They’ve only been dating what a month? And “The News International” is claiming Travis Kelce is planning to pop the question on Taylor Swift’s birthday. December 13th…Meanwhile, Taylor is over here searching for a mansion in Europe away from the public eye.

-----

Tim McGraw what does he love…I mean really…well we know he loves his family, singing…writing but I never would have thought Spear Fishing ...“Any chance I get to spear fish…I spear fish, and I do it free dive with an old fashion pole spear.” Never would have thought that. He adds that he hasn’t been able to do it in a while but that’s right on the top of his list and one of his favorite things to do.

-----

Lee Greenwood is retiring at the end of 2024.  He's released 22 albums and 40 singles, but you mostly know him as the "God Bless the U.S.A." singer.

The List for Monday, November 13th 2023

Welcome to The List,

The 67th Annual Grammy Awards will air live February 4th on CBS. It looks like the women will dominate this year.  Not just musical acts but a couple sound engineers as well.  Morgan Wallen got shut out.  even though his album "One Thing at a Time" and single "Last Night" dominated the charts.  The three people who WROTE "Last Nightgot nominated for Best Country Song, though. The "67th Annual Grammy Awards" will air live on February 4th on CBS.  They'll be hosted by Chris Rock and Will Smith.  (Yes, I made that up . . . but how awesome would it be???)

-----

Just when you thought “Fancy Like” and the dance was past us…well, welcome to “Fancy Like Christmas”! I’m not even joking. Walker Hayes changed some of the lyrics to “Fancy Like” and he and his daughter Lela created some new dance moves to go with it. Check it out HERE.

-----

People are starting to wonder if Travis Kelce is “The One”…. at the Argentina show Taylor changed the lyrics to one of her songs to kinda hint at that, and she officially introduced him to her father at dinner in Buenos Aires.

-----

Chris Stapleton tells GQ magazine that his love for music began like so many of OURS did…with his parent's old record collection.  Everything from Jim Croce, Ray Charles, Michael Jackson, CCR, AC/DC—you name it, it was in there. He was like a sponge to all of those records, but mostly the ones with the guitars Then it was blues and bluegrass records and starting to understand where some of those other sounds came from."

------

While most people are ready to binge their favorite Christmas movies already, But let's not forget about next week's holiday.  There’s some pretty good Thanksgiving  or Thanksgiving-ish movies..like, Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and even Spider-Man believe it or not.

------

World of Reel says the script for "John Wick: Chapter 5" is currently being written. John Wick’s kill count in the series currently stands at 439 victims.

The List for Friday, November 10th 2023

Welcome to The List,

This week we reported that Homer Simpson was no longer strangling Bart…Well, the story has an update .  Maybe Homer Simpson isn't going to stop strangling Bart after all . . . even though he claimed during a recent episode that, quote, "Times have changed." The producers actually Tweeted a picture of Homer strangling Bart. The caption reads, quote, "Homer Simpson was unavailable for comment as he was busy strangling Bart."

-----

Morgan Wallen was up for several awards at Wednesday's CMAs, and came up dry.  But it sounds like he wanted to get ahead of any negativity because he posted this on Instagram Stories after the show.  Quote, "Walked in tonight a winner, didn't leave no different."

-----

Jared Leto became the first person to legally climb the Empire State Building yesterday.  He went from the 86th floor to the base of the antenna at the top.  He did it to promote the upcoming tour with his band 30 Seconds to Mars. If you have a tour coming up and you want to sell lots of tickets, there are a few different ways you can achieve that.  The best one is to have songs that people will actually pay to hear you sing…or…you can climb the Empire State Building, I guess…

-----

The International News says Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are allegedly feuding over their Christmas plans. Harry, who misses London and wants to buy a property in the UK, wants his children to build relationships with their British cousins. Meghan has no desire to return to England and enjoys being a celebrity in America. This has caused tension between the couple, leaving Harry feeling homesick…boy those regrets will getcha!!!

-----

NFL fans are tired of all the coverage Taylor Swift is getting.  89.3 percent of Americans want less Taylor with their football.  Of those haters, 89.9 percent were guys, and 88.9 percent were women.

-----

Carrie Underwood's fans are NOT happy that she lost out to Lainey Wilson for CMA Entertainer of the Year.  Obviously, Carrie's fans feel that she's put in the work and earned it, while Lainey just recently broke out.  Plus, Carrie's been nominated for that award six times, while it was Lainey's first nod.

The List for Thursday, November 8th 2023

Welcome to The List,

Big night last night for Country music and a BIG night for Lainey Wilson!! was the undisputed champ at last night's CMAs.  She won five awards, including Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year for "Bell Bottom Country", and the biggest one of all, Entertainer of the Year. Congrats to all the other winners and we think  Bry + Pey did a pretty good job too.

-----

One of Shania Twain's tour buses crashed while driving in between shows in Canada yesterday morning.  13 members of her production were on the bus, and all were hospitalized.  None with serious injuries.  Shania was NOT on the bus.  Her next scheduled show is tonight in Saskatoon.

-----

Page Six reports Travis Kelce will be traveling to Argentina to join Taylor Swift on her international Eras Tour. Kelce will make the trip during the Chiefs’ bye week and will return to the States in time for his team's next game.  Here’s something interesting a Swifty from the states is traveling to the show in Argentina also.  A ticket to a show in the states she said was around $2100..the Argentina show ticket was $60.  Let that sink in…

-----

Page Six says Kelly Ripa is trying to set up her 26-year-old son, Michael, with 65-year-old Sharon Stone. Ripa says both of her sons find Stone attractive. Ripa jokingly offered Stone the opportunity to be her daughter-in-law.  Stone usually dates men who are at least 45 years old.

------

BroBible says Travis Kelce's brother, Jason, was a finalist for People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive. When told he lost to Patrick Dempsey, the Philadelphia Eagles star said,  “I’m not even the sexiest man in my family, let alone the sexiest man alive. I mean, what are we talking about here?”

-----

And lastly, Cirque du Soleil is putting together a country music-themed show.  It's going to debut next July in Nashville . . . and then go on the road.  It'll feature music from "contemporary and legendary country artists."
