"When we put vocals on 'Die From a Broken Heart' there are just so many life experiences that we relate to with that song. Even as 23 year old women now, there are times that we are so broken and we call out parents because that's all you know how to do. But just in the vocal, you can hear..I cried while recording that song because it just...I don't know It does something, maybe because it was that day it was so fresh and vulnerable. Charlie Daniels on KIX 101.1..."Whats the difference between a fiddle and a viol...

We just heard the news that Country Music Legend, Charlie Daniels has passed away at the age of 83.  I had the pleasure to talk with Charlie many times over my radio career.  One of the questions I had always wondered about was what was the difference between a fiddle and a violin?  Who better to ask then the fiddlin' master himself.  Charlie gives us the answer from an interview back in 2006.  RIP Charlie Daniels. - Todd

The List for Friday July 3rd 2020

Welcome to The List I'm Jonathan Knight....

With Covid-19 on everyone's mind, I can tell you Willie Nelson will NOT be slowing down because of it this holiday season...In fact, he’ll be having a busy 4th of July weekend: First he releases his 70th solo studio album, “First Rose of Spring,” today. Then tomorrow, Willie's annual “4th of July Picnic” a hybrid live-stream/concert-film event in the virtual countryside. Tickets for the digital event — which range from $35 before tomorrow to $45 the day of the event — can be purchased at WilliePicnic.com, where the festivities will stream beginning at 4:30.

And because we're talking about the 4th of July, lets talk traditions...Thomas Rhett has plenty.. "My girls love to put red, white and blue face paint on. Lauren usually puts ‘em in, like, an American flag ballerina outfit, and they love watching fireworks. They love grilling hot dogs and making s’mores, and we usually do it out at our farm with like 150 people. But this year, it probably is gonna look like we’re gonna have a few less people hanging out with us, but we do love to hang at Fourth of July and love getting to just celebrate that good American tradition."

Lin-Manuel Miranda's "Hamilton" is on Disney + ... A filmed live performance of "Hamilton" is streaming now on Disney+. Lin-Manuel Miranda is excited that more people will now see the show than ever before. He says the word of mouth with "Hamilton" has been unbelievable over the past few years. Lin recalls how he used to mess up the lyrics to the show. Twitter users made sure to let him know about it. Lin isn't sure what will happen with Broadway after the pandemic ends, but is glad that they could bring "Hamilton" into people's homes. "Hamilton" airs on Disney+ today.

The Daily Mirror claims Tiger King star Carole Baskin has joined 'Cameo' and is now doing custom videos for fans. She charges $100 for shout outs, birthday greetings and hellos....I just got a shiver....

The List for Thursday July 7th 2020

Welcome to The List, I'm Jonathan Knight...

Well, the fourth of July is this weekend that means cookouts, family get together's and fireworks....so, what does it mean to be an American to you? Here's what it means to Luke Bryan "I think the definition of an American is somebody who stands up during the ‘Pledge of Allegiance’ and stands up when ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ is being sung and just appreciates what all the fallen heroes and soldiers have done to keep us living in a country that’s free where we have the right to do anything we want"

Speaking of being a proud American, Kip Moore Is Very Proud Of America .. "I’m a very, very patriotic person, proud of the country that I live in, and I’m very proud of what those guys do for us each and every day, and I don’t take it for granted one bit. My grandparents were in the military, fought wars, and I’ve seen the battle that they go through, just the horror of remember things. When I start to think that I’m half-way tough, I realize how I’m not one bit when I talk to soldiers when I’m out and realize the things that they go through. I can’t imagine facing what those guys face every day"

Entertainment Tonight says reports that ''The Ellen DeGeneres Show'' is about to be canceled because of declining ratings and stories about Ellen being mean are false.
