The List for Wednesday, November 22 2023

Welcome to The List,

Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan are coming together in the next "Karate Kid" movie.  Ralph will play Daniel LaRusso again from the original movies, and Jackie will return as Mr. Han from the 2010 remake. A global casting search is underway to find the NEXT "Karate Kid".  The actor must be 15 to 17 years old and "portray Chinese or mixed-race Chinese".  He must speak fluent English, and any Mandarin is a plus. Acting experience isn't required, but they do have to know martial arts.

For Thanksgiving there are a FEW things Mitchell Tenpenny says are a MUST HAVE  “Macaroni and cheese with Ritz crackers baked on top. It is so unhealthy, but so good… And my mom’s deviled eggs. It’s not turkey. It’s not ham. I mean I like that, but if like the mac and cheese isn’t there or the deviled eggs, I like kind of being a brat about it. I will cause a fit so it’s there every time and it’s delicious.” I don’t know about the Mac and Cheese with Ritz crackers thing, but deviled eggs? Oh yeah every time “

Variety Magazine says "Mrs. Doubtfire" director Chris Columbus shot 2 million feet of film because Robin Williams improvised so much dialogue. Williams would do a scripted take and then improvise.  Columbus had to shoot the movie with four cameras to keep up with Williams' improvisation. He has 900 boxes of footage from the film and hopes to turn it into a documentary.

This is NOT a joke…The Rolling Stones' 2024 tour will be sponsored by the AARP . . . seriously.  And members even get access to tickets two days early.  The tour kicks off in Houston on April 28th.  They announced a 16-date North American tour in support of their new album "Hackney Diamonds".  And they did something kind of brilliant: They effectively prevented all of us from being able to joke about the tour being sponsored by the AARP . . . because they literally got the AARP to sponsor the tour!!

-----

Monday was a big day for Tim McGraw.  He woke up to learn that "Standing Room Only" had gone to Number One.  It's his 46th song to top the Country Radio Chart . . . and he was over the moon about it. Sharing a quote over social media he said “He’s overwhelmed with gratitude.  Stay tuned for a big surprise."  That came later in another post, which turned out to be “a few songs” as he put it…it’s actually a new EP titled "Poet's Resume".  He also released the first single, which is called "Runnin' Outta Love".

-----

And lastly, Blake Shelton tells Entertainment Tonight that he was excited when he saw Gwen Stefani's 9-year-old son, Apollo, wearing western wear like him for her Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony.  He usually wears sweats and shorts all the time, and when he saw him come down the stairs in jeans and boots it warmed his heart.

The List for Tuesday, November 21st 2023

Welcome to The List,

Wayne Brady got into a car accident in Malibu on Sunday night that resulted in FISTICUFFS between him and another driver. Apparently, the other guy hit Wayne's car as he was driving along the Pacific Coast Highway.  They both stopped and started shouting at each other . . . and then things got PHYSICAL. Wayne called 911 after the fight, but the other guy took off.

Shopping this holiday season may take a little longer…especially if they’re playing your favorite Christmas songs. A study on music's impact on holiday shopping found that people are most likely to go into or stay in a store if pop is playing.  The most popular holiday song on shopping playlists is Tony Bennett's "Winter Wonderlandand the most popular artist is no not Mariah Carey…but…Taylor Swift.

-----

Everything Nash says Tim McGraw’s favorite cheat meals usually involve indulging in fast food during road trips. He likes a Big Mac from McDonald's and Faith Hill's Southern cooking.

-----

Contact Music says Patrick Dempsey claims his friends were "mad" when he was named People's ‘’Sexiest Man Alive’’. He says,  "I didn't realize how close the competition was and how many people finished second and how many people were overlooked, I'm just happy to be in the game at this point in my life, so it's good. I'm enjoying my moment." As you should…haters gonna hate…

-----

Garth Brooks was on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” ... He talked to Kelly about his new album “Time Traveler”…says that he thinks music is the voice of hope to him..THEN, they talked about the Black Friday Football game…and the concerts after… Amazon always does the concerts after the Thursday night football games.  They’re doing the game after the Black Friday game, and they said ‘Hey man would you do that concert’ I said I would love to do it.  We’re opening the bar at the same time, so we’re going to go into ‘Friends In Low Places’  bar the first time ever and we’re going to do a Dive Bar concert.” ‘Time Traveler’ is available now…

-----

Lastly, We know that Reba McEntire is ready to marry her boyfriend, actor Rex Linn.  But Rex . . . he's still on the fence.  Taste of Country recently asked her about it and she said, quote, "I told him if he wanted to get married that's up to him totally."

The List for Monday, November 20th 2023

Welcome to The List,

Congratulations to Morgan Wallen receiving eleven trophies at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night.  Even more than Taylor Swift!“The last award show we came home empty handed. This one, I don’t have enough hands for them all.  So, thank you…all of these awards are really, for my fans.”

-----

Taylor is NOT a distraction….Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes tells ESPN that the team is not distracted by Travis Kelce’s relationship with Taylor Swift. In fact he says  "He thinks it becomes a bigger deal to the fan bases than it does the guys that are actually in the building.  We’ll see, TONIGHT…The Chiefs vs the Eagles tonight on Monday night football from Arrowhead Stadium…Taylor is not supposed to be there…

-----

Hold on to your power tools…Tim Allen says there's talk about a "Home Improvement" spinoff.  The show originally aired for eight seasons on ABC, from 1991 to 1999.  He’s always said that he never felt the story was done.  It would take place in the future where his character is a grandfather.

-----

The cast of ‘Friends’ may reunite at the Emmy Awards to honor Matthew Perry. Gossip Ireland is reporting that, the cast want to honor him publicly at some point and give him the tribute he so rightfully deserves – If they can all agree on a worthy tribute and get the blessing of his family, they will absolutely get together to make that night a special.

-----

John and TJ Osborne of Brothers Osborne have become more of their true selves over the past few years.  John has been pretty honest about his struggle with his mental health. One way John has showcased his personal work is through a massive chest tattoo, even though that started off as something to do during a rare day off. “It was like I had nothing to do, and I was like, ‘You know what? I’m just gonna go get a big tattoo on my chest,’” it is a sailor ship and I’ve been very vocal about my mental health and a lot of struggles I’ve had over the years. . I feel like I’ve become my best self in the most trying times of my life.” The guys don’t have anymore dates on the books until March of 2024 when they head over to the UK for the massive C2C Festival.

-----

Jelly Roll  says Dolly Parton was an important part of his upbringing in Tennessee.  Saying "Everything he ever learned about how to do interviews in the music business and how to carry himself he learned from watching Dolly."

The List for Friday, November 17th 2023

Welcome to The List,

Someone has finally come forward to stand up to Taylor Swift.   a Philadelphia Top 40 radio station. The Eagles are playing the Kansas City Chiefs Monday night in K.C. As you also know, Taylor has been all-in on the Chiefs since she started seeing Travis Kelce. Well, they’ve decided to DITCH Taylor in favor of CITY PRIDE.  They're not playing any of her music this weekend, all the way through Monday.

-----

Toby Keith shared an update on his battle with stomach cancer, and he said he's doing "pretty good" . . . but he's still fighting, for himself AND everyone else. “They’re taking great care of me and I’m getting all the latest stuff you can get.  Cancer’s an island and you’re on a boat. Nobody goes over to that island if you don’t have it.  As soon as you crash land on it, there’s a lot of boats there.  Everybody’s got you stuff.  You know if I can survive this, and live to tell my story, Maybe I can save someone else’s life.”

-----

If you’re a Letterman fan…David Letterman is returning to "The Late Show" for the first time since he left.  Of course, it's now "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert".  And David will be Stephen's guest on Monday night.  He retired in 2015, after 22 seasons.

-----

Dick Van Dyke turns 98 December 13th, and CBS will mark the occasion with a special called "Dick Van Dyke 98 Years of Magic".  To air December 21st.  This could be a really good idea, or a really bad idea. Here's why it could be a really good idea:  Remember that Betty White 100th anniversary special? It was all set to be filmed, with a release date of January 2022. But then Betty DIED on New Year's Eve of 2021 . . . two weeks BEFORE her 100th birthday.  So yeah, 100 is a great number to shoot for, but CBS obviously learned from Betty, and chose to celebrate Dick sooner rather than later…The “Bad idea” pretty obvious…..Will Dick even make it to 98?  Or will this celebration turn into a MEMORIAL special, like the Betty White one did?

-----

Blake Shelton Says Gwen Stefani Is Embracing Oklahoma Life ... He's not going to say she's become a country girl, but they're starting to see a different side of her. “I think country music has kinda given her a chance to show what an incredible vocalist she is and an incredible song writer.”

-----

Yesterday was the Great American Smokeout . . . and Snoop Dogg took things WAY too far. He issued a statement saying, quote, "After much consideration and conversation with my family, I've decided to give up smoke.  Please respect my privacy at this time." I'm thinking one of two things are possible here:  This is either a total joke . . . or Snoop is switching to EDIBLES. We wish him all the luck
