Welcome to The List,
No matter what you think of Tom Cruise, you can't accuse him of not putting in the work. On Tuesday, he attended "Mission: Impossible" premieres in D.C, Miami, Atlanta, and Toronto. In Atlanta, he told the crowd, quote, "Hope you enjoy the film, 'cause we made it for you." "Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One" hit theaters yesterday.

Hoda Kotb is a pretty good broadcaster, and she loves country music, so I'll give her that. But when it comes to singing, well . . .On Tuesday, she presented Shania Twain with a Double Diamond Platinum record of her 1997 album, "Come on Over". This was ON stage at Madison Square Garden. Then Shania asked her to help sing, "You're Still the One". Hoda went along with it and, luckily, it was quick because she has a terrible voice.

Garth Brooks, Lainey Wilson, and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band will be performing at the inaugural Sugar Bowl Country Kickoff. It's being held September 2nd at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. It's celebrating the start of the college football season . . . and the plan is for it to be an annual Labor Day weekend event.

The 2023 ESPY awards was last night – Best Team went to the Kansas City Chiefs with Patrick Mahomes getting the award for Best Athlete, Men’s sports. Best Play went to Justin Jefferson with the catch of the century and it’s really something to see. The ESPYS honor the Buffalo Bills training staff with the Pat Tillman Award for Service for their quick action in assisting Buffalo Bills Defensive back Damar Hamlin when he collapsed and went into cardiac arrest on the field after tackling Bengals receiver Tee Higgins during the game.

The New York Post says a swanky screening of “Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One”, recently turned into a disaster for some moviegoers. They were turned away from the screening in New York because they were underdressed. Their invite read , “Dress code: Evening Cocktail Attire (no jeans, no T-shirt, no logos/offensive clothing). Paramount reserves the right to turn anyone away for improper dress or other reasons. Comfortable shoes highly recommended.”

I would have never guessed this but Tim McGraw tells Parade Magazine that he is intimidated by small concert crowds. "It's more intimidating with a smaller crowd, for some reason. Because it's more intimate, you can see everybody, so it's not like you're yelling to the back rafters."
