Heather Thomas, Marshalltown’s Public Works Director, joined KFJB to give us more information on the Center Street Viaduct Project.  The plan is to have the finger joints to be replaced for a smoother ride.

One thing the city was waiting on was the approval from the Union Pacific Railroad, since the viaduct goes over the railroad.  Now the big issue is finding the materials.

Lead time has only been one hurdle with this project

Heather shares the few options that were presented to the city council

The council did not make a decision at the previous city council meeting.  They will hear some short term solutions at the next regular city council meeting.
