This Thursday is the 24th Anniversary of the September 11th attacks that happened in New York, Washington DC and Pennsylvania. A ceremony to remember that day is happening at the Marshalltown Police and Fire Station.
That is Michael Hanken, Vice Commander of the Marshalltown Honor Guard. He says at 7:46 will be a moment of silence as that is when the first plane hit the World Trade Center. He explains why it is at the Police and Fire Station.
Of those that died on September 11th 2001, 343 were firefighters and 72 were law enforcement officers. In total 2,997 people died that day and Thursday morning Marshalltown will Never Forget.
