A standoff in Colfax ended peacefully on Saturday when the man was taken into custody, with a little help from some tear gas.

55-year old Paul Deaton barricaded himself inside a house in the 200 block of Montgomery Street. Family members were able to escape4, but Deaton remained inside. After trying to talk Deaton out of the house, officers fired tear gas into the house and Deaton was arrested.
