It’s time to break out the tents, backpacks, sleeping bags and hiking boots as this is Camping Kick-off Weekend in Iowa’s state parks. This is being called “The Year of the Volunteer”  the DNR says state parks are hosting more than 30 volunteer and family events this weekend.

Some state parks remain closed due to flooding or damage from recent flooding.
