U-S Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue’s visited Iowa Monday. Part of Perdue’s visit was to highlight the importance of the U-S Mexico Canada Agreement (MCA), which replaces NAFTA.
Perdue was asked if there is potential to continue increasing pork exports to China with the problems they’ve been having with African Swine fever. He says a trade deal with China would do that.
When asked about an updated total on the agricultural damage done in the state by flooding, Perdue said the total continues to be added up — but said the most important thing is for Congress to approve disaster aid.
