The List for Wednesday, November 23rd 2022

Welcome to The List,

It’s REALLY hard to imagine “Titanic” without Leonardo DiCaprio, but director James Cameron says he almost botched his audition. James says Kate Winslet was “fantastic” from the get-go, but when Leo first came in, he had an attitude.  “We’ll run some lines, I’ll video it, he said ‘You mean I’m reading?” I said Yeah! He said I don’t read, and I shook his hand and said thanks for coming bye!  He said wait, wait, you mean if I don’t read I don’t get the part? Just like that?  I said Oh, yeah this is going to be a giant movie and it’s going to take two years of my life, so, you’re going to read or you’re not going to get the part.” He goes on to say every ounce of his entire being is just so negative right up to the point I said action…and he turned into Jack.

The latest news on Jay Leno from TMZ…is reporting he’s back on the open road less than 2 weeks after he was severely burned in a car fire, and his first stop … the same garage where it happened. Tuesday, the comedian drove himself  to his Burbank garage where he keeps most of his famous car collection. He briefly chatted with photogs as he pulled in at the gate … tellin’ them he’ll back onstage telling jokes as soon as this weekend. He also jokes around about a much-needed BBQ. Too soon, Jay!!!

It just wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade! viewers will be treated to four new balloons, five new floats, 12 marching bands, and 25 performers — including the Queen of Christmas herself: Mariah Carey, who will sing her classic holiday tune “All I Want for Christmas Is You” ahead of Santa’s arrival at Macy’s. The 96th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade kicks off Thursday, Nov. 24, at 9 a.m. ET local time. On NBC.

This won’t surprise you.  Presale tickets for Garth Brooks’ year-long Vegas residency went on sale Monday . . . and sold-out that day.  He talked about it on Monday’s “Inside Studio G”, quote, “What an unbelievable day this was for us.  Every show in ’23 is pretty much . . . done.  A whole year in one day.”

——

Lainey Wilson performed a new song called “Smell Like Smoke” on Sunday’s episode of “Yellowstone” where she DID get her drink and a dance.  If you know you know..and. If you’re interested, it’s been ADDED to her “Bell Bottom Country” album.

Just an FYI….”Top Gun: Maverick” will go to Paramount+ on December 22nd.

You can catch The List, weekdays at 2:20 and 4:20 on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1

The List for Tuesday, March 31st 2026

Welcome to The List,

Taylor Swift has officially entered her glittery legal era again. A Las Vegas performer says Taylor’s use of “The Life Of A Showgirl” is stomping all over her own brand, “Confessions of a Showgirl.” She’s suing for trademark infringement, wants damages, and an injunction too.

Only Kid Rock could turn a poolside salute into a military investigation. The Army says two Blackhawk helicopters near his Tennessee mansion were just on a Nashville training route, but now they’re checking into why they hovered there. Kid says nobody’s getting in trouble and called it pretty neat. Nothing says casual Tuesday like cannonballs, patriotism, and two black helicopters hovering near your house…

-----

Riley Green is stacking side quests like a pro. He’s making his TV debut on Marshals in mid-April. And because sleep is for other people, he’s also reportedly opening a second Duck Blind bar in Gatlinburg. At this point Riley’s building a country music cinematic universe.

-----

Thomas Rhett says one of his favorite parts of touring is trying wild new foods on the road, which sounds adventurous and expensive. Meanwhile Dylan Scott keeps it a little more backyard chaos at home, admitting he’ll wander into the kitchen at midnight and cook a full meal like it’s noon. His wife wakes up confused; he’s making dinner round two. That’s not a snack, that’s a second shift.
