The List for Wednesday, May 22nd 2024

Welcome to The List,

TMZ reports, there’s now a criminal investigation into Matthew Perry’s death.  The LAPD and the DEA are trying to figure out where he got the ketamine that killed him.

Lainey Wilson is no-frills and doesn’t demand much backstage for her shows.  It’s a pretty simple list, which goes to show how laid-back she is.  She says, “I don’t have a lot on my rider . . . I ain’t gonna be asking for a new toilet lid.”  Congratulations to Lainey being invited to be a member of the Grand Ole Opry by Reba on ‘The Voice’ finale. If you’re interested her new bar ‘Bell Bottoms Up’ will open May 31st.

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer is eager to make two new Pirates of the Caribbean movies, with one possibly starring Margot Robbie. Bruckheimer is optimistic about Disney’s interest even though ‘Depp’ fans are not. The last Pirates movie was made in 2017, but plans for a reboot are in the works.

At Morgan Wallen’s concert at Metlife Stadium this past weekend, a fan held up a sign that said, “Morgan, can you draw my first tattoo?”  So, Morgan grabbed the sign and signed it, “Love ya . . . So does God.”  And the fan already got the tattoo.

The List for Thursday, December 18th 2025

Welcome to The List,

The Oscars are officially breaking up with ABC and moving in with YouTube. Starting in 2029, the Academy Awards will stream on YouTube, along with all the red-carpet chaos, through at least 2033. ABC still gets the show through the 100th Oscars in 2028, but after that, no channel flipping — you’re clicking a link.

Don’t expect to see Michael Bublé back in the spinning chair next season. He says he’s done with The Voice after dealing with online backlash and missing his family. An insider says the negative comments really took a toll, even though he loves the show and the crew. Sometimes the smoothest crooner in the room just wants to go home and be Dad.

-----

Blake Shelton shared the first time he brought Gwen Stefani home to Oklahoma and it blew her mind. Gwen, raised in Anaheim, saw Blake’s land and asked, “You own this?” Then she spotted a creek and said, “You can have that?” She thought rivers only came with national park admission. Blake called it one of the joys of his life. City girl meets country acreage…

-----

Morgan Wallen is now the highest-selling country artist of all time. He just picked up 80 new certifications and officially crossed 240 million units sold. Luke Combs comes in at number two, Garth Brooks at number three. Let that sink in. Skipped awards shows, topped streaming, and now sits on the mountain. Morgan let the numbers do the talking and they did….loudly.

You can catch The List, weekday afternoon at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
