The List for Wednesday, May 11th 2022

Welcome to The List,

Starting to feel a little more summertime and a lot less springtime…before you know it we’ll be singing along with Thomas Rhett’s hit song “Slow Down Summer”. Not trying to rush anything but how did that song come about?  “We were on a trip to Montana, and we were sitting in this house just staring out into this field and we noticed that the leaves were changing, and it was getting cooler outside. I was like, man I wish summer would just slow down.” Thomas’s ‘Bring the Bar To You Tour’ with opening acts Parker Mccollum and Conner Smith is on the road and will be in Moline. IL October 13th. But if you can’t wait that long you can ALWAYS head to Nashville and the CMA Music Festival this summer.

Ellen’s series finale will air on Thursday, May 26th. Between now and then, she will interview a slew of A listers including Zac Efron, Kate McKinnon, Justin Timberlake, Keith Urban, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Luke Bryan, , Brad Paisley, just to name a few.  The Daily Mail says Jennifer Aniston is going to be Ellen’s final guest

Hockey fan Dierks Bentley had an amazing moment this week when the NHL’s Stanley Cup happened to drop by for a visit to his house. Dierks not only got to experience this – but he got to introduce the cup to his daughters Evie, and Jordan…and his very surprised son, Knox. The beers might be on Dierks Bentley, Breland and Hardy – but we don’t think they’ll be drinking them out of the Stanley Cup.

Miranda Lambert and Elle King are going to perform at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night on NBC…If you’ve seen Keith Urban on stage you may have noticed how HARD he works…well he says it’s because he still feels he has to prove himself doing whatever it takes to get the crowd going.

Mandy Moore talk to Jimmy Fallon about some of the things SHE took from the This Is Us’ set on the last day of filming. “I took the Stealers jersey from the Superbowl episode, I took my wedding ring. My characters wedding ring.” Only 2 episodes left…the series finally airs May 24th on NBC.

A number of the stars from Scream (2021) are officially returning for a new sequel. Deadline reports that Melissa Barrera (Sam), Jenna Ortega (Tara), Jasmin Savoy Brown (Mindy), and Mason Gooding (Chad) will all return for Scream 6. The film is set to begin filming this summer and is currently scheduled to debut in theatres on March 31, 2023.

OUR KIX CRITTER OF THE WEEK, PIEREE!

He is about a two year old tabby who came to the ARL as a stray. He came in with an injury to his hip, but thankfully it was the serious and has fully healed. That's when the ARL staff realized Pierre is a cuddy bug who loves to snuggle. They believe he would be good with other cats too. Since Pierre is the KIX Critter his adoption fee is half off the regular price of $50, you can make him your couch buddy for $25.00!! More info

The List for Monday, March 30th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Tiger Woods is back in the headlines after flipping his Land Rover in Florida trying to pass a truck with a trailer. The vehicle ended up on its side, he crawled out like it was no big deal, and somehow nobody was hurt. He blew a 0.00 on a breathalyzer but refused a blood test and was charged with DUI and property damage. So yeah, that “no alcohol” part isn’t exactly calming anyone down.

-----

Keith Urban is dealing with some awkward rumors linking him to younger Nashville singers, and apparently his daughters are not loving the headlines. Sources say it’s a bad look no matter what, because either he comes off like a womanizer or a guy striking out. Meanwhile, the women involved are flat-out denying everything.

-----

Country legend Charlie Daniels is making a return in hologram form for America’s 250th birthday celebration. The show is set for Fort Campbell and will feature performances from Aaron Tippin and others, along with a digital version of Charlie headlining. His son says it’s a dream come true, which is sweet… but also a little “we’re living in the future now.”

-----

Michael Jordan says he still dreams about making an NBA comeback… in his 60s. He told CBS that competitive fire never really leaves, and he’d love to pick up a basketball again at that level. Which is adorable, because most of us dream about getting off the couch without making a noise.

You can catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
