The List for Wednesday, March 22nd 2023

Welcome to The List,

Chris Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Pataky are catching some heat for supposedly ABUSING their son.  And on his birthday, no less. Their twin sons Sasha and Tristan recently turned 9, and Chris posted a picture from the celebration that bothered a lot of people. It showed Elsa shoving one of the kids’ faces into his birthday cake, while everyone else laughed. Commenters called it violent, unfunny, and even likened it to abuse…others said relax, who at some point hasn’t wanted to shove or get their face shoved into a juicy birthday cake…

Parker McCollum talks about what drives the “To Be Loved By You” singer to succeed in the music business…‘Making my family proud is like  super, super important to me.  I knew I had to be successful at this and support myself financially doing this and keep my integrity as a songwriter’ Adding he passed on all the ‘up-front’ money for creative control when he got his record deal.

Could Kelsea Ballerini go the way of Taylor Swift and become less and less “country”?  In a new interview, she basically said becoming a huge cross-over artist is the goal.  Saying,  “I want to play arenas.  I want to be the main draw.  I want the pyrotechnics.  I want to cross over, dare I say.”..Well, it was nice knowin’ ya…

Tyler Hubbard tells Rolling Stone magazine that his first solo shows were humbling experiences. Saying “Their FGL shows were always so huge. They were big parties. Some of his first solo shows were opening for Keith Urban. They had to squeeze around his draped off gear. No pyro. And half the people there didn’t know who he was. It really made him feel like he was starting over from scratch.” Well, he was….

The NY Post says Gwyneth Paltrow went on trial yesterday. Dr Terry Sanderson is suing Paltrow claiming she ran over him on the ski slopes of Park City, Utah in 2016. Sanderson’s lawyers opened his lawsuit against Paltrow by telling the court; “Distracted skiers cause crashes. Sanderson is suing for $300,000. Paltrow is countersuing for $1. Sanderson claims he suffered a head injury as a result of the crash…

And lastly, “Wayne’s World 3” sounds like it might ACTUALLY happen. In an interview with “People” magazine, Dana Carvey said it’s on the horizon.  He also said, quote, “Maybe we’ll do it in puppets.  I’m not sure . . .

The List for Thursday, May 22nd 2025

Welcome to The List,

Dolly Parton’s taking over the Country Music Hall of Fame, and it’s shinier than a disco ball at a rhinestone rodeo. This new exhibit is full of glitter, glam, and six decades of fabulous. Dolly even teared up, saying, “It’s a long way from the Smoky Mountains to the top of the world.”

So apparently, we’re canonizing craft brews now? Chicago’s Burning Bush Brewery just dropped a new beer called “Da Pope,” inspired by Pope Leo XIV—because nothing says holiness like hops. It's an American mild ale with fruity notes. So yeah, if you’ve ever wanted to drink the spirit of Chicago’s papal pride... now’s your chance to get buzzed and blessed.

-----

Morgan Wallen’s new rap-cover of “Miami” is catching heat—and not the good kind. People say it sounds like he teamed up with Alvin and the freakin' Chipmunks. The chorus? High-pitched and autotuned within an inch of its life. Once you hear it, you can’t unhear it. It’s giving... helium karaoke. Bless his autotuned little heart.

-----

Shakira’s hips don’t lie—but apparently someone’s immune system did. Someone with measles showed up at her MetLife Stadium show in New Jersey. No confirmed cases yet, but symptoms could pop up through June 6th. So if you went... congrats, you didn’t just get a concert—you might’ve got a souvenir virus. Thanks for the germs, mystery patient zero!

You can catch The List, weekday afternoon at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
