The List for Wednesday, March 15th 2023

Welcome to The List,

Most of us would just like to survive into our 90s, and have enough mental bandwidth to play UNO . . . and loosely follow whatever’s on CBS.  Willie Nelson is turning 90 next month, and he’s not just sitting at home.  He’s heading back out on the road this summer for another Outlaw Music Festival tour.  He’ll be joined by tons of other artists, including Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, John Fogerty and many others.

Kevin Hart tells Variety magazine that he and Dwayne ”The Rock” Johnson are working on another ”Jumanji” movie. Saying ”We’re going to have to do it soon. We’re talking, of course, about new and bigger ideas…that’s been a conversation.”

—–

March Madness is underway this weekend and I bet you didn’t know Carly Pearce LOVES college Basketball…and yes she has a specific team… “I love everything to do with the Kentucky Wildcats basketball. But I grew up with a father that’s very into sports and was very athletic. But I’m not very athletic other than running, so I’ve never really gotten that super into it, other than UK basketball.” She likes to watch races and running.

Season 3 of Ted Lasso is finally here and is now streaming on Apple TV+.  A new season means AFC Richmond has new expectations since they are back in the Premier League. The premiere episode is all about AFC Richmond not being respected by soccer experts as they are picked to finish 20th (last place) in the league. The players are not happy about this, which leads to Ted (Jason Sudeikis) making a big decision.

The first-round performers at next month’s “CMT Music Awards” have been announced.  They include Blake Shelton, Carly Pearce, Cody Johnson, Lainey Wilson, Keith Urban, and Carrie Underwood . . . plus the show’s co-hosts Kelsea Ballerini and Kane Brown.  Voting is still open at vote.cmt.com. the 2023 CMT Music Awards airs Sunday April 2nd at 7pm on CBS.

And finally, It doesn’t happen very often but sometimes Tom Cruise is told no….Geo TV says Norway is refusing to allow Tom Cruise to land a helicopter on the Arctic Island of Svalbard. Government officials say Tom’s request for 30 helicopter landings for his movie ”Mission Impossible 8” will disturb the local wildlife there.

The List for Thursday, February 19th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Travis Kelce is out here setting expectations so high the rest of us are gonna get yelled at for bringing home gas station flowers. He’s reportedly spent $141,000 on pre-wedding gifts for Taylor Swift, including Rolex watches, designer jackets, and daily flower deliveries. Daily. Meanwhile, I forgot my anniversary once and tried to fix it with a breakfast burrito. Travis Kelce just ruined relationships for every man in America.

-----

Lainey Wilson is teasing new music, and the title might be the most Lainey Wilson thing ever. The new single is called “Can’t Sit Still,” which tracks, because she’s been everywhere except my back yard party. She says her friends describe her as “a suitcase with legs,” which honestly sounds like Delta Airlines lost her twice already. No official release date yet, but she says it’s coming “real soon,” so prepare your playlists accordingly.

-----

Bunnie XO just revealed she thought Jelly Roll was a jerk when they first met, which proves once again women love a fixer-upper. She said he had “teddy bear with teeth energy” and sad eyes, and she basically looked at him like a home improvement project from HGTV. Fast forward to now, they’re one of Country music’s biggest power couples. Moral of the story, sometimes the guy who ignores you becomes your husband.

-----

The new Mummy reboot is ditching the Tom Cruise action vibe and going straight for emotional damage. This one’s from the director of Evil Dead Rise, so instead of running from explosions, you’ll be running from your own nightmares. It’s about a girl who disappears and comes back after spending quality time inside a 3,000-year-old coffin. It hits theaters April 17th, and I’ll be watching it from the safety of daylight and denial.

You can catch The List, this afternoon at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
