The List for Wednesday, June 8th 2022

Welcome to The List,

If you were a fan of the ‘Joker” movie…you’ll be happy to hear The team behind it is ready to laugh it up once again, with filmmaker Todd Phillips officially confirming he has completed a script for a sequel to his Oscar-winning 2019 film. Phillips shared a picture of Joaquin Phoenix reading a copy of the new script.

Parmalee Star Matt Thomas says they weren’t always called Parmalee “About the time we turned twelve, we wanted some guitars to start playing music. Next thing I know our little cousin Barry I see him playing drums. So, we started this band called Jerry Thomas and the Thomas Brothers Band.” Matt and the boys will be at Arnold Park Iowa at the Roof Garden Ballroom June 23rd.

The Predator will not just go away….The trailer for the new Predator movie, “Prey”. has been released. It’s a prequel set 300 years ago, with Native Americans fighting a Predator. The two-minute preview for the film, which will premiere on Hulu on Aug. 5, teases the Comanche Nation 300 years in the past fighting against a Predator.

LANCO has revealed the dates of their Low Class Lovers Tour.  It launches June 16th in North Lawrence, Ohio and wraps October 22tn in Colorado Springs.  Hit up the Lanco Facebook page for details. And  Dan + Shay posted a clip on Facebook of two people slow dancing during a recent soundcheck at AT&T Stadium.  How’d they get in the place so early?  They’re Shay Mooney’s parents.

“Esquire” ranked all of WILL FERRELL’s movies.  The top three are “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy”. . . “Stranger than Fiction”. . . and “Elf”.  “Daddy’s Home 2” finished last.

Do country artists space-out while they’re performing?  Of course.  Somebody asked Lady A’s Dave Haywood about it and he said most of the time he’s focused on the task at hand, but every once in a while . . .it’s all about the Chick-Fil-A backstage…then he snaps back. You kinda drift in and out.  So maybe next time you see them…take a Chick-Fil-A bag…Dave may just say HOWDY!

You can catch The List, weekdays at 2:20 and 4:20 on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1

The List for Friday, March 27th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Carrie Underwood says her boys can sing, but she is not handing out tiny little record deals just because Mom can hit a note. Her oldest is already a mini-Carrie, super into music, but she says the music business can wait until he is older and knows who he is. One minute Mom is on stage in sequins, next minute she is making dinner like nothing happened. Country queen by night, casserole ninja by six.

Morgan Wallen says he is done hiding behind excuses, and that might be the most grown-up sentence he has ever said out loud. He told CMT that back then, there was always something to blame when things went sideways. Now he says if he messes up, it is on him. Accountability..

-----

Netflix just raised prices again, and at this point your streaming bill is starting to look like a car payment. The ad plan is now $8.99, standard is $19.99, and premium jumps to $26.99. Remember when cutting the cord was supposed to save money? Now we are all just paying cable prices with extra steps. Congrats, we played ourselves.

-----

The iHeartRadio Music Awards wrapped up last night, and if you are guessing who won everything, go ahead and say it with me. Taylor Swift. Again. Save everybody a few hours. Show up, wave, collect hardware, repeat.

You can catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
