The List for Wednesday, January 5th 2022

Welcome to The List,

Everyone is looking forward to a positive 2022…Chris Stapleton is looking to go on the road as well as Jordan Davis with Dierks Bentley early in the new year and Jon Pardi? He’s looking forward to new music if he could just…get…to it…“We haven’t had no time to work on it because I’ve (only) been home about two or three days for the past three months, it seems like, and I haven’t been writing. I’ve been doing nothing but touring. So, I’m gonna get some songwriting in and finish this album.” He sounds a little frustrated…

Zac Brown has a unique way of working out.  Telling GQ magazine that he does it while playing video games. Saying he’s got an overactive brain, so he had to figure out some way that he could do cardio. So, he set up his Arc Trainer right in front of his PlayStation and play’s ‘Madden’.  The time slips by fast—mentally, he’s going to play football; and doesn’t even think about working out…. maybe have to try that…

Producer Steve Boettcher says Betty White recorded a tribute to her fans 10 days before she passed. He tells Entertainment Tonight that the greeting will most likely appear in Betty’s upcoming movie, ‘Betty White: A Celebration’. saying “It was kind of a tribute to her fans that were going to be with her at the event.  ‘Betty White: A Celebration’, in theaters one night only on Betty’s 100th birthday January 17th you can see it at Movies 12 in Ames, Cinemark in Altoona and Jordan Creek 20 in Des Moines.

A little something for the beer drinker and Dallas Cowboys fans in 2022.  Fox NFL announcer Troy Aikman is releasing a new beer in February called Eight. The healthy beer is made with organic grains, antioxidant hops and no sugar. The beer only has 90 calories BUT will NOT help you throw a fifty yard pass into a trash can.  Although you may THINK you can after a few of them.

He’s putting down the shield and putting on his dancing shoes…Captain America Chris Evans is reportedly going to play legendary actor Gene Kelly the iconic musical movie star of ‘Singin’ in the Rain’.  Just weeks after another Marvel Studios star Tom Holland (Spider-Man) confirmed he was going to make a movie about Fred Astaire.  No studio is attached to it yet, but the script is in development.

The List for Thursday, December 18th 2025

Welcome to The List,

The Oscars are officially breaking up with ABC and moving in with YouTube. Starting in 2029, the Academy Awards will stream on YouTube, along with all the red-carpet chaos, through at least 2033. ABC still gets the show through the 100th Oscars in 2028, but after that, no channel flipping — you’re clicking a link.

Don’t expect to see Michael Bublé back in the spinning chair next season. He says he’s done with The Voice after dealing with online backlash and missing his family. An insider says the negative comments really took a toll, even though he loves the show and the crew. Sometimes the smoothest crooner in the room just wants to go home and be Dad.

-----

Blake Shelton shared the first time he brought Gwen Stefani home to Oklahoma and it blew her mind. Gwen, raised in Anaheim, saw Blake’s land and asked, “You own this?” Then she spotted a creek and said, “You can have that?” She thought rivers only came with national park admission. Blake called it one of the joys of his life. City girl meets country acreage…

-----

Morgan Wallen is now the highest-selling country artist of all time. He just picked up 80 new certifications and officially crossed 240 million units sold. Luke Combs comes in at number two, Garth Brooks at number three. Let that sink in. Skipped awards shows, topped streaming, and now sits on the mountain. Morgan let the numbers do the talking and they did….loudly.

You can catch The List, weekday afternoon at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
