The List for Wednesday, January 4th 2022

Welcome to The List,

How authentic are the fight scenes in “Yellowstone” and “1923” Actors had to go through a two-week cowboy boot camp. Brian Geraghty, who plays Zane on “1923”, said, quote, “You gotta not only ride a horse, but look like you know what you’re doing . . . They were running on horses, lassoing, learning how to use an old six shooters. . .so, yeah pretty authentic…

Hardy tried to help wrestler-musician Elias on “Monday Night Raw” the other day.  He snuck into the ring and smashed a guitar over the back of Elias’s opponent, Solo Sikoa.  And then he ran for his life…probably a good plan…

Feelings are hurt today in the big apple.  Ryan Seacrest claimed on “Live” yesterday that Andy Cohen snubbed him during their competing New Year’s Eve broadcasts.  But Kelly Ripa told him, quote, “That’s not true.  He said he was trying to get your attention.” During last year’s broadcast, a very drunk Andy Cohen actually TRASHED Ryan and ABC’s New Year’s coverage…so, this year..CNN banned alcohol for on-air people.

The latest news about Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin comes from his uncle. He says he’s showing improvement.  He’s reportedly only receiving 50% oxygen now, down from 100% when he was first admitted.  But he’s still in intensive care and still sedated.

Warner Bros. is adding a new Elvis Presley special to HBO Max to mark his birthday on Sunday, Jan. 8. Just a Boy from Tupelo: Bringing Elvis to the Big Screen is a new feature on the making of the latest epic movie about the King of Rock and Roll. The special appears to be different from the bonus features included in the Blu-ray release of Elvis. The new documentary is part of Warner Bros.’ big awards season push for Elvis, which could be one of the few blockbuster hits nominated for the Best Picture Oscar this year.

Country singer Lainey Wilson became a viral trend on TikTok last month after a fan posted a video of her performing in bell-bottom leopard-print pants. Wilson, 30, welcomed the newfound attention and used the opportunity to plug her new record, which is coincidentally called Bell Bottom Country. “I can’t even scroll on TikTok on my for you page, without seeing my fat butt on everything. ”Wilson stars as a country singer in Yellowstone Season 5.

The List for Friday, February 13th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Brantley Gilbert sang “Dirt Road Anthem” at the Turning Point USA halftime show, and Zach Bryan took it personally. So Zach dropped a parody called “Chili on a Hot Dog,” basically roasting the lyrics and celebrating double-fisted chili dogs like it’s a county fair championship. Brantley fired back by grabbing two foot-long chili dogs on stage and acting it out. Jason Aldean chimed in with, “Best song I’ve heard from that guy.” Nothing says country unity like processed meat.

Thomas Rhett admitted on a podcast he’s losing hearing in one ear at 35 and had to get hearing aids. Years of loud concerts… plus four kids and a fifth on the way. He wore them for a week and asked his wife, “Is this what you hear all day?” She basically said, welcome to marriage. Turns out the loudest tour of his life is at home.

-----

There’s a new indie horror movie called ‘The House Was Not Hungry Then’, told entirely from the haunted house’s perspective. No close-ups. No dramatic reaction shots. Just the house silently watching a woman search for her missing father. It hits video on demand February 13th. So now even the drywall is judging you.

-----

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer says he’s working on Top Gun 3 and Pirates of the Caribbean 6. He told Screen Rant it’s basically a horse race. Right now Top Gun is barely ahead, waiting on a script. So Maverick might fly again… or Jack Sparrow might stumble back in. Hollywood is saying…. originality is overrated.

You can catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
