The List for Wednesday, August 31st 2022

Welcome to The List,

Leonardo DiCaprio and his model girlfriend Camila Morrone broke up after four years.  No word on why they broke up.  Leo is 47 and she’s 25, so maybe she got too old?

“Rolling Stone” just ranked the 100 best country albums of all time, and they went heavy on the old school stuff.

“Coat of Many Colors”, Dolly Parton (1971)

“Dreaming My Dreams”, Waylon Jennings (1975)

“Red Headed Stranger”, Willie Nelson (1975)

“Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music”, Ray Charles (1962)

 “Fly”, The Chicks (1999)

“Traveler” by Chris Stapleton at #34 . . . Garth Brooks “No Fences” at #41, and Eric Church’s “Chief” at #43.  (You can check out the entire Top 100 list  HERE)

A South Wales woman got the scare of her life when shopping in a quirky antique store…she found a hideous, naked, life-size replica of Sylvester Stallone. It’s a prop replica of his character from “Demolition Man”, who was cryogenically frozen.  It probably came from the old Planet Hollywood in Sydney which was closed in 2002…they’re not saying how much she paid for it….

—–

Chase Rice was so inspired by his “Key West & Colorado” video, that he went out and bought an Airstream trailer.  He said he’s going to take it on tour with him.  But more importantly, he asked fans, quote, “What should I name her?”

——

The Sanderson sisters won’t be the only ones returning to Salem when Hocus Pocus 2 premieres on Disney+ this fall. Ahead of the upcoming Sept. 30. Disney+ has released fans’ first look at Doug Jones’ return as Billy Butcherson, Winifred zombified ex-boyfriend. The pic was shared by Entertainment Weekly, and the new image sees Billy standing in a graveyard and looking almost identical to how he looked in the first film, the character practically frozen in time in a centuries-old body.

——

Shania Twain turned 57 on Saturday, and her guitarist Eric convinced the entire crowd at her show in Vegas to sing “Happy Birthday” to her..Happy Birthday Shania…

You can catch The List, weekdays at 2:20 and 4:20 on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1

The List for Friday, March 27th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Carrie Underwood says her boys can sing, but she is not handing out tiny little record deals just because Mom can hit a note. Her oldest is already a mini-Carrie, super into music, but she says the music business can wait until he is older and knows who he is. One minute Mom is on stage in sequins, next minute she is making dinner like nothing happened. Country queen by night, casserole ninja by six.

-----

Morgan Wallen says he is done hiding behind excuses, and that might be the most grown-up sentence he has ever said out loud. He told CMT that back then, there was always something to blame when things went sideways. Now he says if he messes up, it is on him. Accountability..

-----

Netflix just raised prices again, and at this point your streaming bill is starting to look like a car payment. The ad plan is now $8.99, standard is $19.99, and premium jumps to $26.99. Remember when cutting the cord was supposed to save money? Now we are all just paying cable prices with extra steps. Congrats, we played ourselves.

-----

The iHeartRadio Music Awards wrapped up last night, and if you are guessing who won everything, go ahead and say it with me. Taylor Swift. Again. Save everybody a few hours. Show up, wave, collect hardware, repeat.

You can catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
