The List for Tuesday, September 13th 2022

Welcome to The List,

Disney’s live-action “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will modernize the character of Snow White.  She’ll be played by Rachel Zegler, who said she’ll be more independent and not waiting for a man. A release date hasn’t been announced yet, but it’ll hit theaters sometime in 2024 and feature Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen….yeah, they changed The Little Mermaid too…and it’s not working out to well….

Ladies, is there a certain song that puts you in the fightin’ mood?  Does it happen to be “Mama’s Broken Heart by Miranda Lambert?  Miranda had to stop playing it early in her shows because the fights would disrupt everything. It’s now the first song in what she calls “the final push.”  It’s where she really kicks it into gear.  She does “Mama’s Broken Heart”, then “Gunpowder & Lead”“Little Red Wagon”, and “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home)”. Quote, “We do this final push at the end of the show.  So, if the girls are fighting, they [can] just fight through the rest of the set.”

Still on the fence about tonight’s “ACM Honors”?  Here are some highlights.  Eric Church will be surprising Morgan Wallen with the ACM Milestone Award.  Shania Twain will be given the ACM Poet’s Award. Chris Stapleton receives the ACM Spirit Award, and Miranda Lambert gets her Triple Crown Award for winning ACM Entertainer of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, and New Artist of the Year.

Carly Pearce talks about The Performances At This Year’s ACM Honors Show … “Loved Vince [Gill]. He honored Stapleton, which just, anytime Vince Gill sings I die for. Shania just in general, getting to see everybody and their performances.. But I think that my favorite performance of the night was Brooks & Dunn honoring Miranda Lambert, singing ‘Kerosene. ’”The ACM Honors airs tonight on Fox.

OK! magazine says King Charles is considering making Prince Harry and Meghan Markle part-time Royals in order to end their family feud. A source tells the magazine, “Charles wants to fix the Harry and Meghan problem. The only way he’s going to stop them being a problem is to give into them, which it looks like he is going to do. But part of the deal would be Harry’s book needs to disappear in order for this to work.”

Getting a little background on Jackson Dean, he tells EverettPost.com that his entire family worked construction. The ‘Don’t come Lookin’ singer says he and his brothers, from birth, worked for their father. He always worked construction. Just manual labor. Never worked in a restaurant, never did anything like that. It was hard, but rewarding work.”

The List for Thursday, February 12th 2026

Welcome to The List,

We are saddened to report that James Van Der Beek has passed away at the age of 48 after battling stage 3 colorectal cancer. His family confirmed the news on social media, sharing that he had been fighting the disease since August 2023. Van Der Beek became a household name as Dawson Leery on Dawson's Creek, a show that defined a generation of television. He leaves behind his wife and six children. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and fans.

Players on the winning Super Bowl team get $178,000 from the NFL. But Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold could reportedly lose money because of California’s “jock tax.” Out-of-state players get taxed based on duty days spent in the state. With his massive contract and bonuses, estimates say he could owe between $200,000 and $250,000. Win the ring, lose to taxes. Classic.

-----

Luke Combs just revealed the full 22-song tracklist for his new album The Way I Am. It includes a duet with Alison Krauss. And a song written by Cody Johnson. Twenty-two songs is not an album. That is a weekend.

-----

Kelly Clarkson is reportedly ending her talk show and says she has no regrets. Sources say it is about quality of life, not money. She is excited, but sad to leave staff she considers family. Sometimes success is not about doing more. It is about breathing again.

You can catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
