The List, for Tuesday, May 16th 2023

Welcome to The List,

Could there be another Back To The Future movie?  84 year old Christopher Lloyd seems to think so.  He also thinks Michael J. Fox could do it, too.  Okay, in no way whatsoever do I want to sound rude or insulting.  But have you seen Michael J. Fox lately?  His Parkinson’s has REALLY taken hold and I would think Christopher Lloyd would be acutely aware of that.  If the focus shifted so it was one of Marty’s kids doing the time traveling…that might work.

Dolly Parton has now turned down two Presidential Medal of Freedom offers.  She said no to President Trump a few years ago, and according to “The Today Show”, she also turned down President Biden.

—–

Kenny Chesney got Kelsea Ballerini to take a backstage ice bath with his band before their show in Lincoln, Nebraska this weekend.  But there was one condition.  She said only if he did a SHOT with her on stage for his song, “You and Tequila”.  And so, the ice bath and the shot happened.

Reba McEntire is serving as a mentor on the current season of “The Voice” . . . and they must like her, because she’s getting a promotion.  Reba will take Blake Shelton’s chair on the upcoming 24th season this fall. The three other coaches next season will be Gwen Stefani, John Legend, and Niall Horan. The finale of ‘The Voice’ airs on Monday, May 22nd and Tuesday, May 23rd on NBC.

Cody Johnson tells CMT that he had to turn down a role in the show ‘Yellowstone’.  He knows Taylor Sheridan, the creator of the show, would love to do it at some point but with only a couple months’ notice we weren’t able to do it with all the shows already on his schedule.

—–

Tom Cruise is allegedly upset that Brad Pitt is going to star in an F1 racing movie.  A lot of people don’t realize this, but Brad and Tom competed for so many roles; it’s ridiculous. Their rivalry is one of the industry’s best-kept secrets. Tom’s nose might be a bit out of joint over this. Brad is kind of stepping on his turf a little, No doubt that has ruffled a few feathers too. ‘You DON’T SAY…Tom Cruise is competitive?

The List for Monday, February 16th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Luke Combs just committed the ultimate sports betrayal…he wore a Jacksonville Jaguars hat. Panthers fans immediately grabbed their pitchforks and pumpkin spice lattes and accused him of treason. One fan called him fake. Luke fired back saying, yeah, maybe he should have worn Panthers gear while playing in the Jaguars stadium…his bad. This man gave us “Beer Never Broke My Heart,” not “I Pledge Allegiance to Your Fantasy Football Team.”

-----

Miranda Lambert kicked off the Daytona 500 in front of more than 100,000 screaming NASCAR fans. She admitted the massive crowd made her nervous, which is relatable, because the only thing scarier than that many people is that many people who drove there aggressively. She said it already felt like a concert thanks to the tailgating.

-----

Hollywood officially ran out of ideas sometime around 2007, and now Charlie’s Angels is getting rebooted…again. Sony is already working on it, with the Crazy Rich Asians writer attached, and Drew Barrymore possibly involved behind the scenes. So yes, prepare for dramatic slow-motion walking, explosions that defy physics, and a plot nobody remembers. That’s Hollywood innovation….rebooting a reboot of a reboot of a reboot.

-----

If you were waiting for The Simpsons to end, I have terrible news…you’ll be waiting forever. The showrunner says it will never have a real finale because the characters live in permanent cartoon Groundhog Day. They already did a fake ending just to mess with us. At this point, three things will survive the apocalypse: cockroaches, Twinkies, and Homer Simpson.

The List for Friday, February 13th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Brantley Gilbert sang “Dirt Road Anthem” at the Turning Point USA halftime show, and Zach Bryan took it personally. So Zach dropped a parody called “Chili on a Hot Dog,” basically roasting the lyrics and celebrating double-fisted chili dogs like it’s a county fair championship. Brantley fired back by grabbing two foot-long chili dogs on stage and acting it out. Jason Aldean chimed in with, “Best song I’ve heard from that guy.” Nothing says country unity like processed meat.

-----

Thomas Rhett admitted on a podcast he’s losing hearing in one ear at 35 and had to get hearing aids. Years of loud concerts… plus four kids and a fifth on the way. He wore them for a week and asked his wife, “Is this what you hear all day?” She basically said, welcome to marriage. Turns out the loudest tour of his life is at home.

-----

There’s a new indie horror movie called ‘The House Was Not Hungry Then’, told entirely from the haunted house’s perspective. No close-ups. No dramatic reaction shots. Just the house silently watching a woman search for her missing father. It hits video on demand February 13th. So now even the drywall is judging you.

-----

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer says he’s working on Top Gun 3 and Pirates of the Caribbean 6. He told Screen Rant it’s basically a horse race. Right now Top Gun is barely ahead, waiting on a script. So Maverick might fly again… or Jack Sparrow might stumble back in. Hollywood is saying…. originality is overrated.
