The List for Tuesday, March 28th 2023

Welcome to The List,

A fan asked Nic Cage what his favorite Keanu Reeves movie was.  Nic said it’s difficult . . . he has “mixed emotions” about Keanu, because he “kicked his [butt] at billiards one night.” But if Nic HAD to answer?  He said, “I like some of the early stuff like ‘Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure’.  I thought he was great in ‘River’s Edge’.”  Nicholas Cage’s Dracula movie “Renfield” is in theaters April 14th.

The Band Perry announced that they’re going on hiatus so each member can focus on “individual creative pursuits.”  They posted the news on social media, adding, “We will continue to support each other as artists and family in all we do.”

If you’re of a certain age, this will make you feel really old . . . Nintendo’s “Mario Bros.” franchise is 40 years old.  The original arcade game came out in 1983 . . . and the famous at-home NES game “Super Mario Bros.” debuted in 1985. Next Friday, “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” hits theaters, so someone conducted a survey, asking THOUSANDS of fans for their favorite character in the Mario universe. The top two were:  Luigi and . . . YOSHI.  Yes, Mario was SNUBBED!  How rude!!

Thirsty for News says Steven Seagal’s daughter, Arissa, is training to become a professional wrestler. She was working with the WWE in 2019 when she suffered an injury.  “She’s come off of modeling in California and things like that and she’s working with a personal trainer, and she’s trying to get everything — all her ducks in a row…now we can see why they’re called “Thirsty for News”.

Mashed magazine says Dolly Parton is selling 25-pound apple pies at Dollywood. The entire pie costs $229 while slices cost $20. Those, who buy the entire pie get to take home the cast iron pan it was baked in…for THAT price you BETTER get the pan….or a free tank of gas!!

The List for Thursday, April 2nd 2026

Welcome to The List,

Horror fans, buckle up, because nightmare fuel just got a backstory. That creepy Aunt Gladys from Weapons is getting her own prequel. The same witch who basically ruined recess forever. Now we’re diving into her origin story. Cool, cool… just what we needed. Sleep is officially canceled this fall.

-----

ABC went full chaos for April Fool’s Day, announcing Miss Piggy as the next Bachelorette. Twenty-five men competing for love, drama, and probably karate chops. Jesse Palmer hosting, roses flying, egos bruised. And yes, they even joked about criminal records. Finally, a dating show where someone might actually get slapped on night one.

-----

Garth Brooks might be hitting the road, but apparently his nerves got there first. Reports say he’s stressed about touring and not having Trisha by his side. Because even country legends need emotional support spouses. Between legal drama and stage jitters, it’s a lot. Moral of the story, even Garth gets the pre-show butterflies.

-----

Taylor Sheridan says if critics are mad, he’s doing his job right. The guy behind Yellowstone is basically trolling reviewers on purpose. He wants them fired up, writing angry think pieces. Because nothing sells like outrage and cowboy drama. Imagine getting paid to annoy people… oh wait, radio.

You can catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
