The List for Tuesday, July 25th 2023

Welcome to The List,

Elon Musk might hit a snag in his attempt to change the name of Twitter to “X” . . . because Mark Zuckerberg may own the rights to that letter. in connection with, social networking services specifically when it comes to “social networking services in the fields of entertainment, gaming, and application development.  Yesterday, workers started removing the word “Twitter” from the side of the building.

Ryan Reynolds is bringing back “Alf” in a series of shorts promoting brands like Mint Mobile and Ring.  They’ll air Saturday, alongside episodes of the original series, on his Maximum Effort Channel on Fubo. Ryan says the idea came from his, quote, “irrational love of ‘Alf’ growing up.”

Carly Pearce may be dating her drummer.  She’s been posting photos of them together, and it sure looks they’re more than just bandmates.  She hasn’t confirmed it, though.. Usually it’s the drummers….always the drummers….

There’s no stopping Jason Aldean’s “Try That in a Small Town”It’s now sold over 500,000 copies in the U.S., which makes it the fourth highest-selling song of 2023.  And there’s a lot of 2023 left. It’s dominating the charts too.  It debuted at Number Two on the Billboard Hot 100.  That’s the highest Jason has EVER been on the all-genre pop chart. Do I even need to tell you it’s Number One on the Hot Country Songs chart?

Jon Pardi puts in perspective how easy being an entertainer really is versus a “real job” Saying he always jokes about waiting around all day to do a sound check and then play two hours so they only work three hours. Compare that to working on a farm. Waking up at 5:30 a.m. to drive an hour to go hop on a tractor and it’s been 10 hours sweating. Now do that six days a week. That’s real work.

Radar Online claims Tim McGraw and Faith Hill won’t be doing another season of ”1883” because Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren are allegedly doing another season of their Yellowstone spinoff, ”1923”. A source tells the website, “When producers learned Helen and Harrison were up for doing another season, they jumped at the chance.  Sadly, Tim and Faith don’t have that kind of juice.”

The List for Thursday, February 19th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Travis Kelce is out here setting expectations so high the rest of us are gonna get yelled at for bringing home gas station flowers. He’s reportedly spent $141,000 on pre-wedding gifts for Taylor Swift, including Rolex watches, designer jackets, and daily flower deliveries. Daily. Meanwhile, I forgot my anniversary once and tried to fix it with a breakfast burrito. Travis Kelce just ruined relationships for every man in America.

-----

Lainey Wilson is teasing new music, and the title might be the most Lainey Wilson thing ever. The new single is called “Can’t Sit Still,” which tracks, because she’s been everywhere except my back yard party. She says her friends describe her as “a suitcase with legs,” which honestly sounds like Delta Airlines lost her twice already. No official release date yet, but she says it’s coming “real soon,” so prepare your playlists accordingly.

-----

Bunnie XO just revealed she thought Jelly Roll was a jerk when they first met, which proves once again women love a fixer-upper. She said he had “teddy bear with teeth energy” and sad eyes, and she basically looked at him like a home improvement project from HGTV. Fast forward to now, they’re one of Country music’s biggest power couples. Moral of the story, sometimes the guy who ignores you becomes your husband.

-----

The new Mummy reboot is ditching the Tom Cruise action vibe and going straight for emotional damage. This one’s from the director of Evil Dead Rise, so instead of running from explosions, you’ll be running from your own nightmares. It’s about a girl who disappears and comes back after spending quality time inside a 3,000-year-old coffin. It hits theaters April 17th, and I’ll be watching it from the safety of daylight and denial.

You can catch The List, this afternoon at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
