The List for Thursday, September 7th 2023

Welcome to The List,

From the book of “You Can’t Make This Up” Last week, Kevin Costner’s estranged wife Christine Baumgartner got her child support knocked down to $63,000 a month.  That’s right just $756,000 a year. How can anyone on Earth be expected to raise three kids/ Christine feels now that she’s DIRT POOR, she says, quote, “I will need to enter the workforce.”

Here’s the LEAST surprising thing you’ll hear all week:  Aaron Rodgers has seen a UFO.  This was in 2005, the year he was drafted by the Packers. On the final episode of HBO’s “Hard Knocks”, Aaron said he was at the home of a UC Berkeley teammate, when they were awoken by the sound of an alarm in the distance. They went outside and saw a “tremendously large object” in the sky.  Quote, “It was like a scene out of ‘Independence Day’ when the ships are coming into the atmosphere and creating this explosion-type fire in the sky.” Eventually it disappeared, but 30 seconds later, they heard what sounded like FIGHTER JETS chasing it.

Keeping fit and prioritizing health and wellness is always a good thing…There’s a list of ways some female country artists do that.  Shania Twain walks everywhere, Carrie Underwood works out with a trainer, and Miranda Lambert focuses on body positivity…yep, she’s positive it’s HER body..

Jimmy Buffett’s beloved Parrot heads agreed that it was “five o’clock somewhere” by celebrating his life and taking to the streets in Key West, Florida.  Fans of the music legend dressed up and paraded through the Florida Keys, to honor the late “Cheeseburger in Paradise” singer. Fans dressed in floral leis, Hawaiian shirts and apparel that referenced the rock star’s island escapist lifestyle.

Us Weekly Magazine says Kevin Costner is “not involved” in any future episodes of “Yellowstone.”  Efforts to convince Costner to film a few more scenes are ongoing, but no agreement has been reached. The second half of season 5 is delayed and might now air in November.

Dan + Shay will perform on ESPN College GameDay this Saturday before the Alabama – Texas football game.  The game will take place in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. “Roll Tide”.

You can catch The List, weekdays at 2:20 and 4:20 on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1

The List for Thursday, February 19th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Travis Kelce is out here setting expectations so high the rest of us are gonna get yelled at for bringing home gas station flowers. He’s reportedly spent $141,000 on pre-wedding gifts for Taylor Swift, including Rolex watches, designer jackets, and daily flower deliveries. Daily. Meanwhile, I forgot my anniversary once and tried to fix it with a breakfast burrito. Travis Kelce just ruined relationships for every man in America.

-----

Lainey Wilson is teasing new music, and the title might be the most Lainey Wilson thing ever. The new single is called “Can’t Sit Still,” which tracks, because she’s been everywhere except my back yard party. She says her friends describe her as “a suitcase with legs,” which honestly sounds like Delta Airlines lost her twice already. No official release date yet, but she says it’s coming “real soon,” so prepare your playlists accordingly.

-----

Bunnie XO just revealed she thought Jelly Roll was a jerk when they first met, which proves once again women love a fixer-upper. She said he had “teddy bear with teeth energy” and sad eyes, and she basically looked at him like a home improvement project from HGTV. Fast forward to now, they’re one of Country music’s biggest power couples. Moral of the story, sometimes the guy who ignores you becomes your husband.

-----

The new Mummy reboot is ditching the Tom Cruise action vibe and going straight for emotional damage. This one’s from the director of Evil Dead Rise, so instead of running from explosions, you’ll be running from your own nightmares. It’s about a girl who disappears and comes back after spending quality time inside a 3,000-year-old coffin. It hits theaters April 17th, and I’ll be watching it from the safety of daylight and denial.

You can catch The List, this afternoon at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
