The List for Thursday, June 23rd 2022

Welcome to The List,

If you could go back in time and give your younger self a bit of advise…what would that advice be?  Thomas Rhett knows what he would tell HIMSELF  “You are not in control, and you might as well let the control go.  The anxiety and the wonder of, is this record gonna do well? Where’s my song at on the chart? How many streams do we have? I feel like I did that for like five years, and it was exhausting. I just started to kinda let go of control and create. And I’m just in a lot happier, if I could, that’s what I would say.” Sometimes to move forward ya gotta let go….

Tim McGraw with all the things going on in his life..music..movies..he says with all that ONE thing comes before his career…FAMILY “We made a conscious decision when we got married that no matter what, if we were gonna start a family, that that was gonna be our first priority and everything else was gonna sort of find its place, for better or worse. For our careers better or worse, or whatever, that’s always been our core understanding and our core principle, is putting our family first.

Carrie Underwood tells Country Heat Weekly that she doesn’t sing love songs. Saying she just loves the strong character that doesn’t take anything from anybody. Like in  “Ghost Story,” you know she’s not doing anything to get revenge on this guy. It’s just like, ‘I’m just telling you that you’re gonna want me back and I’m not gonna be there.’”

—–

Michael J. Fox is going to receive an honorary Oscar statue later this year. The Academy says his advocacy for Parkinson’s research “exemplifies the impact of one person in changing the future for millions.”

—–

“Back to the Future” is coming to Broadway next year.  Not much is known, but It was announced yesterday with a teaser trailer showing two actors playing Marty McFly and Doc Brown in the one and only DeLorean with the words, “Synchronize your watches.” if you’re interested, you can sign up for ticket info at BacktotheFutureMusical.com.

And finally, “The Office” redid their intro with a “Minions” twist.  Instead of Steve Carell as Michael Scott, it’s Steve as Gru.  You really have to see it, especially if you’re a fan of “The Office” below…..

You can catch The List, weekdays at 2:20 and 4:20 on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1

OUR KIX CRITTER OF THE WEEK, PIEREE!

He is about a two year old tabby who came to the ARL as a stray. He came in with an injury to his hip, but thankfully it was the serious and has fully healed. That's when the ARL staff realized Pierre is a cuddy bug who loves to snuggle. They believe he would be good with other cats too. Since Pierre is the KIX Critter his adoption fee is half off the regular price of $50, you can make him your couch buddy for $25.00!! More info

The List for Monday, March 30th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Tiger Woods is back in the headlines after flipping his Land Rover in Florida trying to pass a truck with a trailer. The vehicle ended up on its side, he crawled out like it was no big deal, and somehow nobody was hurt. He blew a 0.00 on a breathalyzer but refused a blood test and was charged with DUI and property damage. So yeah, that “no alcohol” part isn’t exactly calming anyone down.

-----

Keith Urban is dealing with some awkward rumors linking him to younger Nashville singers, and apparently his daughters are not loving the headlines. Sources say it’s a bad look no matter what, because either he comes off like a womanizer or a guy striking out. Meanwhile, the women involved are flat-out denying everything.

-----

Country legend Charlie Daniels is making a return in hologram form for America’s 250th birthday celebration. The show is set for Fort Campbell and will feature performances from Aaron Tippin and others, along with a digital version of Charlie headlining. His son says it’s a dream come true, which is sweet… but also a little “we’re living in the future now.”

-----

Michael Jordan says he still dreams about making an NBA comeback… in his 60s. He told CBS that competitive fire never really leaves, and he’d love to pick up a basketball again at that level. Which is adorable, because most of us dream about getting off the couch without making a noise.

You can catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
