The List for Thursday, June 10th 2021

Welcome to The List,

Congratulations to all the CMT Award winners last night, of course I have to mention Chris Young and Kane Brown for Collaborative Video of the Year for ‘Famous Friends’ “Thank you guys so much, this is one of the few times I’ve gotten to stand on stage accepting an award.  I’m very happy to be standing next to somebody I consider a brother and a friend, To be able to celebrate this is thanks to all of you who voted for it.” There song has been our number one pick for the Top Kix at Six for the last three weeks in a row…

Brett Young the author?  Well, yes…he’s releasing a children’s book that’s inspired by his song ”Lady.”  He told NBC that publishers came to him about it after hearing the song. ”Love You, Little Lady Will” be out on August 24th

Samuel L. Jackson mega movie star with so many iconic one liners I don’t think you could count them all….so, which one does his fans yell at him in public? “You know what the line is now? ‘What’s in your wallet’ and I say my wife’s hand…and that’s the end of it.” From his Capitol One commercials…

The Daily Mail says the custom Dodge Charger that Vin Diesel drives in the next Fast and the Furious movie, ”F9”, cost $1 million to build. Several hybrid versions of the car were made before a final version was constructed. The car has a mega horsepower Dodge Hellcat motor. “F9” opens in theatres on June 25th

“The Nanny” Star Fran Drescher says she’s turning “The Nanny” into a Broadway Musical…she’s just one last part…”There’s going to be a very heavy singing part.  So, we’re going to have to find basically the next Barbara Streisand I think.” Or maybe at least someone who can honk laugh in tune…

You can catch The List weekdays at 2:20 and 4:20 on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1

The List for Thursday, February 5th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Rumors are flying that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have allegedly set a wedding date. A so-called source says the planning is “military-level precise,” which tracks, because Taylor hates surprises and Travis runs NFL playbooks for a living. Pop music, professional football, and Hollywood elite all in one room. Locked down, protected, unforgettable. Basically the most intense group project ever attempted.

-----

Former Bachelor host Chris Harrison is launching a new dating show for people who want a “traditional, marriage-minded partnership built on commitment and shared values.” Which apparently is now considered edgy programming. Somewhere, reality TV just gasped. This is not roses and drama. This is compatibility and emotional maturity.

-----

Before Luke Combs made it big, he had $200 left in his bank account. That money went toward mastering one song, “Hurricane.” He releases it, sells about 10,000 copies the first week, and uses the cash to finish the rest of the album. Then pitches it to labels. And that, kids, is how you bet on yourself and win.

-----

Toby Keith, Kenny Rogers, and Ed Harris are being inducted into the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. The ceremony happens in April in Oklahoma City. They’re joining legends like George Strait, Brooks & Dunn, Kurt Russell, and Burt Reynolds. That is a hall with serious swagger. Cowboy hats optional. Legends required.

Catch The List, with Jonathan Knight weekday afternoon at 4:20. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
