The List for Thursday, August 31st 2023

Welcome to The List,

According to “Variety”, the streaming service Max . . . formerly HBO Max . . . is thinking about adding CNN news alerts, WHILE you’re watching content.  So you’re in the middle of catching up on “The Last of Us” . . . and suddenly there’s a random update about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Naturally, subscribers are already RIPPING this idea . . . with people saying they’re immediately canceling if this happens.

Gabby Barrett and her husband Cade Foehner can’t keep their hands off each other.  She’s already pregnant with their third child.  Their son Augustine was born last October, and their daughter Baylah is two. They’re actually doing it right.  If you’re going to raise a big family, best to do it while you’re young.  Gabby is 23 and Cade is 27.  She shared a baby bump pic on Instagram.

The Daily Mail says Simon Cowell’s 9-year-old son Eric wants to audition for Britain’s Got Talent. Simon says, ‘’He’s decided that he’s going to audition for Britain’s Got Talent. That is going to be total torture I said, because he does play drums, “Are you going to drum?” and he said he wants to sing. I went, “Oh God no”.’’ There he is…Simon Cowell…supportive father of the year….

Jimmy Kimmel tells the Strike Force 5 podcast that he almost retired when the writers strike occurred. “I was very intent on retiring right around the time where the strike started. And now, I realize, Oh yeah, it’s kind of nice to work.”

Whiskey Riff says Lainey Wilson, Darius Rucker, and The Cadillac Three have recorded a new version of College GameDay’s “Comin’ To Your City” theme song. Big & Rich were replaced after singing the song for 16 years.   The new rendition will be played during the opening of ESPN’s College GameDay.

“Jurassic Park” will be retold in Lego form for an animated special on Peacock.  It will be 22 minutes long, and be out sometime this fall.

The List for Tuesday, February 17th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Keith Urban is reportedly planning a Bahamas getaway with Nicole Kidman and their daughters to reconnect as a family. Because nothing fixes family tension like sunshine, ocean views, and drinks with tiny umbrellas. Sources say the Bahamas is neutral territory, not tied to Nashville, LA, or lawyers.

-----

AJ McLean says it’s time for a ‘90s pop Super Bowl halftime show featuring Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, NSYNC, and 98 Degrees. Basically, he wants the halftime show to look like your middle school dance playlist. And honestly, I’m not mad. One “Bye Bye Bye” dance break and half of America is throwing out a knee.

-----

Megan Moroney is doing something shocking in 2026…charging affordable ticket prices. Her new “Cloud 9” pop-up tour is nine shows in nine cities for just nine bucks a ticket. Nine dollars. That’s less than a beer, less than parking, and definitely less than your emotional support concert hoodie.

-----

Hollywood legend Robert Duvall has passed at 95, and Tim McGraw paid tribute to his Tender Mercies co-star and friend. Tim said they even texted each other over the years about movies and memories. Which is wild, because somewhere out there was Robert Duvall…just casually texting Tim McGraw like, “Hey man, Tender Mercies is on again.”

You can catch The List weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1

Honey 2/17/2026

OUR KIX CRITTER OF THE WEEK IS HONEY!!

Honey is a loving, sweet-natured about 2 year old lap cat who truly thrives on affection and human companionship. She came to us after the passing of her previous owner and is now hoping to find a calm, caring home where she can once again feel safe and cherished.

Honey has a gentle personality and enjoys curling up in laps, soaking up attention, and spending quiet time with her people. She would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a devoted, affectionate cat.

Honey is spayed, up to date on vaccines, FIV/FeLV tested, and microchipped, so she is all ready to begin her next chapter in a forever home.

Since Honey is our KIX Critter of the week her adoption fee is only $25.00!!!
