The List for Monday, September 19th 2002

Welcome to The List,

There’s a new “Karate Kid” movie coming in 2024 . . . but the details are a complete mystery. When they announced the movie, Sony would only say that it would mark the, quote, “return of the original ‘Karate Kid’ franchise.”  But here’s the thing: It has nothing to do with the Netflix show “Cobra Kai”. . . So a return to the ORIGINAL franchise . . . which makes you think it won’t have anything to do with the 2010 remake starring Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan….back to the ole wax on wax off?

Luke Combs nailed his appearance on ESPN’s “College Game Day”.  And like a real football fan, he did some pre-pregaming.  Somebody handed him a can of beer as he was walking in the parking lot . . . and he chugged it in about eight seconds flat.  About ten minutes earlier he did a selfie video while holding a travel mug and saying, “I got a whiskey drink, a windowful of Mountaineers, and I’m about to go make my picks.  Couldn’t be more excited.” And in case you somehow didn’t hear, his Appalachian State Mountaineers beat the Troy Trojans on a last second Hail Mary TD.

Speaking of re-makes and sequels….Remember that 2005 supernatural movie “Constantine” with Keanu Reeves?  In it he plays an occult investigator named John Constantine who communicates with angels and demons.  It’s actually based on a DC Comic. Well, Warner Brothers announced they’re making a sequel with the same director. But the best part is Keanu is returning as Constantine. No word on when it’s expected to come out or who else will be in it.

Country Now is reporting Toby Keith had to cancel his appearance at a fundraiser yesterday because of his battle with stomach cancer.  He was being honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his work with cancer patients.  He accepted it through a pre-recorded video because he wasn’t feeling well enough to travel.

There’s a “tractor battle” brewing between Brantley Gilbert and Blake Shelton.  Blake shared a video last month of himself driving his red tractor.  Now Brantley posted a clip where he’s on his green tractor, and saying it’s better.  He also promised “not to blow the surprise.”  So maybe it’s not even about tractors?

—–

Fox News says a group of sheep recently interrupted filming on ”Mission Impossible 8”. Tom Cruise stood by and watched the sheep pass before he started running again.. because that’s what he does….

The List for Tuesday, March 31st 2026

Welcome to The List,

Taylor Swift has officially entered her glittery legal era again. A Las Vegas performer says Taylor’s use of “The Life Of A Showgirl” is stomping all over her own brand, “Confessions of a Showgirl.” She’s suing for trademark infringement, wants damages, and an injunction too.

Only Kid Rock could turn a poolside salute into a military investigation. The Army says two Blackhawk helicopters near his Tennessee mansion were just on a Nashville training route, but now they’re checking into why they hovered there. Kid says nobody’s getting in trouble and called it pretty neat. Nothing says casual Tuesday like cannonballs, patriotism, and two black helicopters hovering near your house…

-----

Riley Green is stacking side quests like a pro. He’s making his TV debut on Marshals in mid-April. And because sleep is for other people, he’s also reportedly opening a second Duck Blind bar in Gatlinburg. At this point Riley’s building a country music cinematic universe.

-----

Thomas Rhett says one of his favorite parts of touring is trying wild new foods on the road, which sounds adventurous and expensive. Meanwhile Dylan Scott keeps it a little more backyard chaos at home, admitting he’ll wander into the kitchen at midnight and cook a full meal like it’s noon. His wife wakes up confused; he’s making dinner round two. That’s not a snack, that’s a second shift.

OUR KIX CRITTER OF THE WEEK, PIEREE!

He is about a two year old tabby who came to the ARL as a stray. He came in with an injury to his hip, but thankfully it was the serious and has fully healed. That's when the ARL staff realized Pierre is a cuddy bug who loves to snuggle. They believe he would be good with other cats too. Since Pierre is the KIX Critter his adoption fee is half off the regular price of $50, you can make him your couch buddy for $25.00!! More info
