The List for Monday, November 21st 2022

Welcome to The List.

New details about the Indiana Jones 5 movie go like this…It’ll take place in the 1960s . . . and yet somehow, Indy still finds himself fighting the Nazis.  The movie is set against the backdrop of the space race between the U.S. and the Soviet Union.  But the Big Bad played by Mads Mikkelsen is based on Wernher von Braun, a real-life former Nazi who went on to become a NASA engineer. And ‘Indi’ has a problem with that…

The series finale of “The Walking Dead” aired last night.  And some actors from the show kept a memento to remember the Zombie Apocalypse by. Jeffrey Dead Morgan (Negan) has his bat, Lucille, and Norman Reedus (Daryl) kept his vests and some crossbows. Josh McDermitt (Eugene):  He was gifted his mullet.

—–

About three weeks after Lauren Alaina caught the bouquet at Hardy’s wedding . . . she got engaged.  Her boyfriend Cam Arnold proposed on Friday, and she brought him to the stage of the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday. Cam is a partner in a Nashville-based insurance firm, and he does NOT like the spotlight.  Lauren told the crowd she had to “negotiate” with him before he agreed to join her on stage.

Granger Smith dropped a surprise album on Friday called “Moonrise”.  And it’s also the soundtrack for a new MOVIE he’s starring in called “Moonrise”.  It premieres December 15th on the family-friendly streaming service Pure Flix.  He says “It’s about a country singer (imagine that) who’s really stubborn (sounds familiar).

Shania Twain is being honored with the Music Icon award at the “People’s Choice Awards”.  She’ll also perform a medley of her greatest hits. The show airs December 6th on NBC and E!.

“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” won the box office again.  Mariah Carey will perform “All I Want for Christmas Is You” at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade.  It airs 9:00 a.m. Eastern on NBC and Peacock. Taylor Swift would like you to know that it’s been “excruciating” for her to see all that chaos involving Ticketmaster and her new tour…So now we know what Taylor NEXT album is going to be about….

The List for Tuesday, March 31st 2026

Welcome to The List,

Taylor Swift has officially entered her glittery legal era again. A Las Vegas performer says Taylor’s use of “The Life Of A Showgirl” is stomping all over her own brand, “Confessions of a Showgirl.” She’s suing for trademark infringement, wants damages, and an injunction too.

Only Kid Rock could turn a poolside salute into a military investigation. The Army says two Blackhawk helicopters near his Tennessee mansion were just on a Nashville training route, but now they’re checking into why they hovered there. Kid says nobody’s getting in trouble and called it pretty neat. Nothing says casual Tuesday like cannonballs, patriotism, and two black helicopters hovering near your house…

-----

Riley Green is stacking side quests like a pro. He’s making his TV debut on Marshals in mid-April. And because sleep is for other people, he’s also reportedly opening a second Duck Blind bar in Gatlinburg. At this point Riley’s building a country music cinematic universe.

-----

Thomas Rhett says one of his favorite parts of touring is trying wild new foods on the road, which sounds adventurous and expensive. Meanwhile Dylan Scott keeps it a little more backyard chaos at home, admitting he’ll wander into the kitchen at midnight and cook a full meal like it’s noon. His wife wakes up confused; he’s making dinner round two. That’s not a snack, that’s a second shift.

You can catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1

OUR KIX CRITTER OF THE WEEK, PIEREE!

He is about a two year old tabby who came to the ARL as a stray. He came in with an injury to his hip, but thankfully it was the serious and has fully healed. That's when the ARL staff realized Pierre is a cuddy bug who loves to snuggle. They believe he would be good with other cats too. Since Pierre is the KIX Critter his adoption fee is half off the regular price of $50, you can make him your couch buddy for $25.00!! More info
