The List for Monday, November 13th 2023

Welcome to The List,

The 67th Annual Grammy Awards will air live February 4th on CBS. It looks like the women will dominate this year.  Not just musical acts but a couple sound engineers as well.  Morgan Wallen got shut out.  even though his album “One Thing at a Time” and single “Last Night” dominated the charts.  The three people who WROTE “Last Night” got nominated for Best Country Song, though. The “67th Annual Grammy Awards” will air live on February 4th on CBS.  They’ll be hosted by Chris Rock and Will Smith.  (Yes, I made that up . . . but how awesome would it be???)

Just when you thought “Fancy Like” and the dance was past us…well, welcome to “Fancy Like Christmas”! I’m not even joking. Walker Hayes changed some of the lyrics to “Fancy Like” and he and his daughter Lela created some new dance moves to go with it. Check it out HERE.

—–

People are starting to wonder if Travis Kelce is “The One”…. at the Argentina show Taylor changed the lyrics to one of her songs to kinda hint at that, and she officially introduced him to her father at dinner in Buenos Aires.

—–

Chris Stapleton tells GQ magazine that his love for music began like so many of OURS did…with his parent’s old record collection.  Everything from Jim Croce, Ray Charles, Michael Jackson, CCR, AC/DC—you name it, it was in there. He was like a sponge to all of those records, but mostly the ones with the guitars Then it was blues and bluegrass records and starting to understand where some of those other sounds came from.”

——

While most people are ready to binge their favorite Christmas movies already, But let’s not forget about next week’s holiday.  There’s some pretty good Thanksgiving  or Thanksgiving-ish movies..like, Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and even Spider-Man believe it or not.

——

World of Reel says the script for “John Wick: Chapter 5” is currently being written. John Wick’s kill count in the series currently stands at 439 victims.

The List for Thursday, February 19th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Travis Kelce is out here setting expectations so high the rest of us are gonna get yelled at for bringing home gas station flowers. He’s reportedly spent $141,000 on pre-wedding gifts for Taylor Swift, including Rolex watches, designer jackets, and daily flower deliveries. Daily. Meanwhile, I forgot my anniversary once and tried to fix it with a breakfast burrito. Travis Kelce just ruined relationships for every man in America.

-----

Lainey Wilson is teasing new music, and the title might be the most Lainey Wilson thing ever. The new single is called “Can’t Sit Still,” which tracks, because she’s been everywhere except my back yard party. She says her friends describe her as “a suitcase with legs,” which honestly sounds like Delta Airlines lost her twice already. No official release date yet, but she says it’s coming “real soon,” so prepare your playlists accordingly.

-----

Bunnie XO just revealed she thought Jelly Roll was a jerk when they first met, which proves once again women love a fixer-upper. She said he had “teddy bear with teeth energy” and sad eyes, and she basically looked at him like a home improvement project from HGTV. Fast forward to now, they’re one of Country music’s biggest power couples. Moral of the story, sometimes the guy who ignores you becomes your husband.

-----

The new Mummy reboot is ditching the Tom Cruise action vibe and going straight for emotional damage. This one’s from the director of Evil Dead Rise, so instead of running from explosions, you’ll be running from your own nightmares. It’s about a girl who disappears and comes back after spending quality time inside a 3,000-year-old coffin. It hits theaters April 17th, and I’ll be watching it from the safety of daylight and denial.

You can catch The List, this afternoon at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
