It was a big night last night for Country music at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards…with Morgan Wallen walking away with Top Country Artist, Male Artist and Top Country Album for “Dangerous: The Double Album”

Another big winner was Gabby Barrett for Top Country Female Artist, Top Collaboration, and Top Country Song. She says winning these awards is an amazing feeling and blessed that she can involve her family. “To have a husband that’s super supportive and knows how much it takes.  I’m just very blessed.” Gabby’s husband is her guitar player Cade Foehner.

Another big deal last night was Duran Duran!!  The British 80’s pop group was on stage for the very first time EVER on the awards show.  The guys still making music after 40 years and have an album on the way!!  They’re putting finishing touches on ‘Future Past’ due out October 22nd

Someone won Friday’s Mega Millions lottery jackpot so Tuesday’s jackpot is worth $20 million.  The winning ticket was sold in Pennsylvania…

In case you missed the American Idol: Grand Finale …. Chayce Beckham is the winner of American Idol. Willie Spence comes in second while Grace Kinstler comes in third.

Rumors are flying that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have allegedly set a wedding date. A so-called source says the planning is “military-level precise,” which tracks, because Taylor hates surprises and Travis runs NFL playbooks for a living. Pop music, professional football, and Hollywood elite all in one room. Locked down, protected, unforgettable. Basically the most intense group project ever attempted.

Former Bachelor host Chris Harrison is launching a new dating show for people who want a “traditional, marriage-minded partnership built on commitment and shared values.” Which apparently is now considered edgy programming. Somewhere, reality TV just gasped. This is not roses and drama. This is compatibility and emotional maturity.

Before Luke Combs made it big, he had $200 left in his bank account. That money went toward mastering one song, “Hurricane.” He releases it, sells about 10,000 copies the first week, and uses the cash to finish the rest of the album. Then pitches it to labels. And that, kids, is how you bet on yourself and win.

Toby Keith, Kenny Rogers, and Ed Harris are being inducted into the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. The ceremony happens in April in Oklahoma City. They’re joining legends like George Strait, Brooks & Dunn, Kurt Russell, and Burt Reynolds. That is a hall with serious swagger. Cowboy hats optional. Legends required.
