The List for Monday, May 17th 2021

Welcome to The List,

Planning a trip after all this COVID stuff?  Here’s an idea!! It was announced just last week that Luke Bryan will be one of multiple headlining acts at the upcoming Resorts World Las Vegas, opening this summer, joining Carrie Underwood, Céline Dion and Katy Perry. Bryan’s first engagement will consist of six shows beginning Feb. 11th

Luke Combs Says The “Forever After All” Music Video Features Footage From His Wedding … “It’s a bunch of footage from from me and Nicole’s wedding. And you kind of get to see a little bit of a glimpse into our day and it’s a really cool thing. I know that the fans are pretty excited about that. They’ve been asking us for it.”

The MTV TV and Movie Awards were held over the weekend…big winners seem to be Marvel properties like The Falcon and the Winter Soldier were Anthony Mackie won “Best Hero”, Other shows like Wanda-Vision were big winners in Best Performance, Best Fight and Best Duo with Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan winners in that category…Best Show went to WandaVision.

Nick Jonas was hospitalized over the weekend after suffering an injury on the set of an unnamed project.  According to sources who spoke to TMZ, the unspecified injury occurred Saturday night and resulted in the singer being rushed to a hospital via ambulance, and was released from the hospital Sunday evening. In other news from the set of The Voice, it looks like the rotating chair in the middle will rotate judges once again…NBC announced this is Jonas’s last season on “The Voice” and would not be returning for Season 21. Instead, Ariana Grande will take his place.

The Guardian newspaper says Tom Cruise and Russia are in a race to be the first to shoot a movie in space. Both productions will start in October now that Russia has already cast the lead in their movie.

The List for Thursday, February 5th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Rumors are flying that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have allegedly set a wedding date. A so-called source says the planning is “military-level precise,” which tracks, because Taylor hates surprises and Travis runs NFL playbooks for a living. Pop music, professional football, and Hollywood elite all in one room. Locked down, protected, unforgettable. Basically the most intense group project ever attempted.

-----

Former Bachelor host Chris Harrison is launching a new dating show for people who want a “traditional, marriage-minded partnership built on commitment and shared values.” Which apparently is now considered edgy programming. Somewhere, reality TV just gasped. This is not roses and drama. This is compatibility and emotional maturity.

-----

Before Luke Combs made it big, he had $200 left in his bank account. That money went toward mastering one song, “Hurricane.” He releases it, sells about 10,000 copies the first week, and uses the cash to finish the rest of the album. Then pitches it to labels. And that, kids, is how you bet on yourself and win.

-----

Toby Keith, Kenny Rogers, and Ed Harris are being inducted into the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. The ceremony happens in April in Oklahoma City. They’re joining legends like George Strait, Brooks & Dunn, Kurt Russell, and Burt Reynolds. That is a hall with serious swagger. Cowboy hats optional. Legends required.

Catch The List, with Jonathan Knight weekday afternoon at 4:20. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
