The List for Monday, March 22nd 2021

Welcome to The List –

Garth was on the Ellen show and Twitch was guest hosting and ask Garth about cowboy hats and when exactly do you know to wear one.“You just wear the cowboy hat whenever, we just did the inauguration, we wore it there, it all depends on the weather outside.  Just mostly, guys like me mostly just hang out in ballcaps.” He and Trisha celebrated 15 years of marriage by hashing out all of their problems while quarantining. Trisha says talking about the “hard stuff” with Garth made their relationship stronger. Garth is excited to be honored by the Kennedy Center this May.

Carrie Underwood is spending Easter Sunday at the Ryman Auditorium.  She’s announced a livestream concert in support of her new gospel album My Savior. Carrie is  sharing the hymns found on her forthcoming record with Gospel legend CeCe Winans and Needtobreathe frontman Bear Rinehart as well as  Mac McAnally and Buddy Greene.  My Savior: Live From the Ryman, will be viewable on Facebook for 48 hours post-performance as well and be free to watch. Sunday April 4th at noon Eastern.

Remember the Jerry Springer show??  After all those years, Jerry dishes on what we’ve always known. “If you called us with a warm uplifting story, we were required to send you to another show. We were only allowed to do things that were outside the norms of proper behavior. So I knew everyday going in, I would be handed something that was crazy. It was really a circus; we didn’t deal with serious issues. The show was stupid.”  It may have been a stupid show but it sure was entertaining…

IGN News says a third Ace Ventura movie is in the works. No word on if Jim Carrey is going to star in the film. We Got This Covered says Amazon Prime may buy the rights to the movie.

Eddie Murphy is working on ”Beverly Hills Cop 4.” …All we know about the project is that there will be NO banana in the tailpipe…maybe a bottle of Metamucil…

You can catch The List weekdays at 2:20 and 4:20 on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1

The List for Thursday, February 5th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Rumors are flying that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have allegedly set a wedding date. A so-called source says the planning is “military-level precise,” which tracks, because Taylor hates surprises and Travis runs NFL playbooks for a living. Pop music, professional football, and Hollywood elite all in one room. Locked down, protected, unforgettable. Basically the most intense group project ever attempted.

-----

Former Bachelor host Chris Harrison is launching a new dating show for people who want a “traditional, marriage-minded partnership built on commitment and shared values.” Which apparently is now considered edgy programming. Somewhere, reality TV just gasped. This is not roses and drama. This is compatibility and emotional maturity.

-----

Before Luke Combs made it big, he had $200 left in his bank account. That money went toward mastering one song, “Hurricane.” He releases it, sells about 10,000 copies the first week, and uses the cash to finish the rest of the album. Then pitches it to labels. And that, kids, is how you bet on yourself and win.

-----

Toby Keith, Kenny Rogers, and Ed Harris are being inducted into the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. The ceremony happens in April in Oklahoma City. They’re joining legends like George Strait, Brooks & Dunn, Kurt Russell, and Burt Reynolds. That is a hall with serious swagger. Cowboy hats optional. Legends required.

Catch The List, with Jonathan Knight weekday afternoon at 4:20. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
