The List for Monday, June 20th 2022

Welcome to The List,

Thinking about starting a band?  Sometimes the hardest part is the promotions….Just ask Parmalee Star Matt Thomas On The Funny Ways The Band Promoted Themselves When They Were Starting Out … “We were relentless about promotions.  We’d ride around with stickers on our cars, we even rented one of those signs in our front yard with the big flashing arrow that said Parmalee Friday night at the club.  My dad would pull it around in his blue Ford pickup truck.”

The Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2023 was announced Friday.  The list of 24 inductees includes Uma Thurman . . . Vince Vaughn . . . Ludacris . . . Jonas Brothers . . . and Lenny Kravitz… Amber Heard was spotted at a TJ Maxx in Bridgehampton, New York with her sister on Thursday.  Is she getting frugal because she owes Johnny Depp more than $8 million?  Or does she always shop there?

First jobs are..well let’s face it FIRST JOBS…and, their not always the most fun…Jon Pardi tells CMT that he hated working at a grocery store. Saying “The worst job he ever had was at the hometown grocery store. He didn’t want to work. He was 15 and didn’t want to work at the grocery store. bagging was fun.  But going down the aisles and pulling up cans and turn them around and face them. Was the worst he would just get so bored…

In a surprise twist, Pixar and Disney’s new movie Lightyear lost Father’s Day weekend and failed to holdover Jurassic World Dominion at the domestic box office.  Lightyear was expected to top the chart with a $70 million to $85 million opening. Instead, the Toy Story spinoff buzzed to a disappointing $51 million.  That’s to bad, it looked like a fun movie…

The things that we do for art….and authenticity…In a new interview, Faith Hill said she was forced to let her armpit hair grow out before filming “1883”.  “Taylor called my husband.  We were at our nephew’s wedding, and he said, ‘Who’s gonna be the one to tell your wife that she has to stop shaving under her arms?’ “And I’m thinking, ‘What?  We’re at a wedding.  Can this wait?’  He goes, ‘No, stop tonight.’  That was three months  before filming. She thought maybe they could just tape something on…but no…it really grossed her out.

The List for Thursday, March 26th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Hookup shows come and go. Paychecks apparently stay forever. Taylor Frankie Paul will still get her full Bachelorette salary. TMZ says the payday lands in the low to mid six figures. The season got shelved after that viral domestic violence video resurfaced. Reality TV motto. Love fades. Direct deposit survives.

-----

Some guys jog. Some guys apparently brawl with neighbors. “Reacher” star Alan Ritchson reportedly got into a physical altercation. Sources say intense behavior is kind of his brand at this point. He doesn’t think he crossed a line. Neither does the authorities,

-----

Country star meets horsepower. This feels aggressively on brand. Darius Rucker is now a NASCAR Cup Series team owner. He invested in Legacy Motor Club which competes at the top level. From singing about wagons to literally owning fast cars. That is what we call career acceleration.

-----

If you like free music. Nashville just planned your summer. CMA Fest announced around 150 artists for daytime stages. Names include Ernest, Melissa Etheridge, Tucker Wetmore, more. The free shows run June fourth through seventh downtown. Wallet stays full. Voice will absolutely not.

You can catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
