The List for Monday, June 14th 2021

Welcome to The List,

With Father’s Day just around the corner we asked Alan Jackson about the special way he raised his kids…“We try to be just not pushy hands on parents. We let them live and be their own way. I’m not stern with them. You know, I’m funny and light, and try to give them guidance and let them live and learn their own ways. And that’s something I think my parents did.”

And dads can be known for giving great advise…take what Brad Paisley’s dad said to him one time when it came to his guitar playing “You don’t have to be good right now, and that’s great.  But, someday you’re not going to be that cute, and you’re going to have to be pretty good or you’re just going to talk about the good ole days.”

The Northern Echo newspaper says Harrison Ford has allegedly asked fans to stop pestering him for selfies.  He’s filming the fifth Indiana Jones film in the U.K.. and he’s taken several selfies with some of his British fans, but I guess he’s over it…The 78 year-old has been placed on a grueling exercise routine for ”Indiana Jones 5”. He is walking, cycling up to 40 miles a day and eating energy bars. Indiana Jones 5 is scheduled to be in theaters July 28th of 2022

Author Stephen King has an interesting take on writing during the pandemic, sometimes it’s easier to retreat into the dream he says “Last year, during the pandemic that’s a great place to be.  Because the real world was kind of scary and kind of boring and it’s sometimes better to retreat into the dream.”

Vin Diesel says the Fast and the Furious franchise must come to an end. We agree….and On this date in 1969, Hee Haw debuted from “Kornfield Kounty” from 1969 to 1971…Were Buck Owens and Roy Clark were the hosts for 25 seasons…

You can catch The List, weekdays at 2:20 and 4:20 on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1

The List for Monday, March 23rd 2026

Welcome to The List,

Keith Urban is officially boarding the yacht rock cruise. The country star says a full covers album is coming. It will feature classic yacht rock songs and only one original track. He even teased fans with a smooth cover of Stephen Bishop’s “On and On.” No release date yet. But apparently Keith brought boat shoes.

-----

ABC may be ready to dump The Bachelorette for good. Insiders claim executives now call the franchise “toxic.” Critics say the show stopped being about love and started chasing messy drama. Ratings have been sliding for years. The big question inside ABC now is simple. Is it finally time to pull the plug.

-----

Travis Kelce is apparently running an investigation. Someone has been leaking details about his wedding plans with Taylor Swift. Sources say Travis is trying to figure out who is talking. He is also trying to keep Taylor calm about the chaos. Because nothing says romance like a celebrity leak hunt.

-----

Luke Combs just turned Las Vegas into a country concert record book. His show at Allegiant Stadium pulled in 70,921 fans. That breaks the stadium record previously set by a massive boxing match. Country music just beat prize fighting in Vegas. Luke Combs basically threw the knockout punch.

The List for Friday, March 20th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Hollywood lost a true action legend today. Chuck Norris, the martial arts star and longtime “Walker, Texas Ranger” icon, has died at age 86, according to statements from his family.  Beyond the screen, his larger-than-life reputation exploded online through viral “Chuck Norris facts,” turning him into one of pop culture’s most enduring memes.

-----

Arnold is back forging steel abs in Venice - Schwarzenegger is grinding at the legendary Gold’s Gym again, training for a Conan sequel. He wants real muscles on screen, even if Hollywood quietly sprinkles in some CGI seasoning.

-----

Luke Combs battled wings like a true warrior - Luke became the first country star on Hot Ones, turkey calling between bites and comparing spicy wings to a home invasion. Nashville just found a new extreme sport.

-----

Lainey, Riley, and Cody bringing stadium energy - The ACM Awards are heading to Vegas, and this trio is set to light up the MGM Grand stage. Rhinestones, roar, and probably at least one cowboy hat thrown in victory.
