Ask Dierks Bentley “The one’s that are more personal to you, the more personal you can make it, a lot of time that’ll make it more universally accepted.  But, it has to be mixed in with the right hook, and melody and lyrics that touch your heart. You just have to trust your gut when you hear something and know something and believe in it and hope other people feel the same way about it as you do.”
