The List for Monday, April 19th 2021

Welcome to The List,

Congratulations to all of last nights ACM winners, the big winners of the night Female Artist of the Year Maren Morris, Male Artist of the Year Thomas Rhett and the big one Entertainer of the Year went to an obviously blindsided Luke Bryan who video chatted from L.A. “I go on stage every night, trying to be the best entertainer I can be.  Trying to make every body in the crowd in the room sing and love one another, have fun.  So, anytime the ACM’s recognizes me for that, it’s a dream come true.”

Gabby Barrett last night to performed her No. 1 single, “The Good Ones,” from Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe.  Taking home the ACM New Female Artist of the Year award.  She got the news of her award ahead of Sunday night’s show and celebrated the news in a decidedly lowkey way…after getting the news she went back and changed a dirty diaper from Baylah May who was born in January.  She’s getting ready to tour this August in support of Thomas Rhett’s Center Point Road Tour.

Alma Wahlberg, mother of actors Mark and Donnie Wahlberg, and a regular on the reality show “Wahlburgers,” has passed.  The news was shared on social media on Sunday by both Mark and Donnie on Instagram.  The Boston-born mother of nine became a household name thanks to her appearances on the A&E series “Wahlburgers,” about the family’s burgeoning burger chain…she was 78.

Are there changes coming to The Voice…again??  After being the resident country coach for 20 seasons is Blake thinking about moving on?  Fans seem to think so. Speculation has been swirling since an interview he did with Hoda Kotb on the TODAY show this month, when he admitted he hoped to leave the entertainment business behind and live a simple life with Gwen. When asked if he saw that happening in about 10 years, he said he’d like to see it sooner than later. The Voice airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC

You can catch The List weekdays at 2:20 and 4:20 on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1

The List for Tuesday, December 9th 2025

Welcome to The List,

Tom Cruise is allegedly still stunned and furious that Ana de Armas dumped him. A source says he “didn’t see it coming” and can’t wrap his head around the idea that she didn’t want him as a long-term partner. Now Ana’s out here laughing it up with Lewis Hamilton in the Ferrari garage — which stings even more because Lewis is friends with Tom.

-----

Maddie & Tae are officially calling it quits after 15 years together. Tae says she’s stepping away to raise her kids, and Maddie is heading into her solo chapter. Country duos break up worse than boy bands. . From “Girl in a Country Song” to “Die from a Broken Heart,” they gave us the harmonies AND the therapy.

-----

Jason Aldean’s six-year-old daughter Navy lost her first tooth and not to the Tooth Fairy, but to a knee in the face during some vacation roughhousing. That’ll teach ya! One moment you’re having family fun, the next you’re spitting teeth like a tiny MMA fighter. At least the Tooth Fairy pays better than UFC.

-----

Golden Globe nominations dropped yesterday, and One Battle After Another and The White Lotus are leading the pack in movies and TV. The show airs January 11th on CBS. Soooo….get ready for another three-hour Hollywood party where everyone pretends to be surprised and the host makes at least one joke that gets them in trouble on Twitter.

You can catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
