The List for Monday, April 11th 2022

Welcome to The List,

Kelsea Ballerini is co-hosting the CMT Awards tonight…she says she isn’t to worried about messing up the hosting…but there IS one things she worries about…“If I mess up reading a prompter, that’s not what I’m great at so that’s ok.  So, I feel less pressure with the talking part, it’s the singing part I’m like if I mess THAT up I’m firing myself!” That could be a little upsetting…The 2022 CMT Awards air tonight on CBS.

The Will Smith Jada Pinkett Smith drama continues as a clip from a past episode of Jada’s ‘Red Table Talk’ internet show has surfaces were Jada confesses she really didn’t want to get married. “When really I just wanted it to be the two of us on a mountain, cause this is serious business.  The wedding was horrible. ”That may answer a lot of questions…like Will being stressed, Jada’s boyfriend etc…

Speaking of the CMT Awards…Kane Brown has four nominations and is the most nominated artist this year. “Feels awesome to be nominated the most nominated artist at CMT’s. I love it for my fans as well because they always have my back and just feels good you know especially to share it with all those artists that we’re going up against so thank you guys.” The CMT Awards are entirely fan-voted.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are engaged again, and this time I just KNOW they’re gonna make it.  Jennifer teased a “major announcement” Saturday on Instagram, pointing fans to her online newsletter, OnTheJLo.com . . . where she posted a video of herself wearing her new engagement ring. It has a green stone with a silver band worth $10 MILLION.  Flowers are so overrated,  They have yet to set a date, but are considering March of 2024 for the divorce.

—–

Congratulations Miranda Lambert and Elle King’s their song Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home)” has reached Number One on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.  That’s the first solo female duet to top that chart since Reba McEntire and Linda Davis did it in 1993 with Does He Love You”.

—–

Jussie Smollett released a song proclaiming his innocence because that’s convincing.  It’s available on LIE-Tunes.

You can catch The List, weekdays at 2:20 and 4:20 on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1

The List for Friday, June 20th 2025

Welcome to The List,

Eddie Murphy’s reportedly living like a germaphobic king in his Hollywood mansion — think Howard Hughes but with better stand-up. He’s got extreme OCD, hates surprises, and won’t leave the house unless Lysol leads the way. Apparently, all that wild comedy? Scripted to the sneeze.

-----

Jessica Simpson and Kim Kardashian are living their best single-girl lives — hanging out, looking hot, and giving each other boy advice like it’s 2006 again. Kim loves Jess for being “real,” and Jessica thinks Kim’s confidence is inspiring. Basically, it’s Hot Girl Summer: BFF Edition.

-----

Post Malone’s busy: He’s on tour with Jelly Roll, opening a bar in Nashville, and plotting his next country album — and apparently, he’s gone full yeehaw. His guitarist says this one’s all pedal steel and fiddle. Post says he’s doing it with respect. We love a genre-jumping gentleman.

-----

Luke Bryan straight-up admitted he’s brainwashed his kids into liking all his hobbies just so they’ll hang out with him. Fishing trips, hunting, dad stuff — the man’s got a plan. Honestly? Respect. Manipulative bonding is still bonding.

The List for Thursday, June 19th 2025

Welcome to The List,

Lainey Wilson's getting her own exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame called “Tough as Nails.” It opens July 18th and runs through next June. From Louisiana farm girl to CMA queen — it’s like Cinderella, but with bell bottoms and a banjo.

-----

Dolly Parton just roasted the real-life Jolene like a Thanksgiving turkey. She said, “She’s not so hot now... used to be a D-cup, now she’s in Depends.” I mean, dang Dolly — that wasn't shade, that was a total eclipse.

-----

Word is Travis Kelce is cracking under the pressure of juggling touchdowns and Taylor Swift. He's trying to live two lives: NFL beast by day, Swiftie arm candy by night. And apparently? It’s catching up with him. Rumors say he might hang up the cleats early — or just pass out from exhaustion mid-rom-com marathon.

-----

Troy Aikman just bought a place near Prince Harry and Meghan in Montecito — but don’t expect royal backyard BBQs. Troy says he hasn’t seen 'em, doesn’t plan to, and doubts they’re fans of light beer anyway. Translation: “I live near them, but I ain’t with them.” Iconic.
