The List for Friday, September 15th 2023

Welcome to The List,

Salma Hayek looks GOOD at 57 and says the secret is meditation!  She doesn’t have the discipline for exercising saying it’s hard to do…but, meditation is a walk in the park, because it’s my own form of it.” She says that every day she takes time to, quote, “sit in a moment” with herself. If she doesn’t do it, everything starts to drop.

You may not believe this, but Carrie Underwood’s home life is very similar to yours and mine.  Oh, there may be a “slightly” bigger house with slightly fancier things . . . but they’re doing the same mundane stuff we all do. “The kids go to school.  My husband usually takes them, but the second they leave it’s like, gotta vacuum [make] their beds and check their rooms  make sure there are no wet towels on the floor, stuff like that” Carrie does a lot of gardening, cooking, canning something and before you know it she says they come home and we make dinner.  Carrie’s Las Vegas residency just announced more dates for 2024…and Denim and Rhinestones Deluxe is out September 22nd

Aaron Rodgers took the first step in his return to football after tearing his Achilles … he says he had successful surgery, posting an update from his hospital bed!!!  The New York Jets star quarterback shared a positive injury update Thursday on social media, saying he went under the knife Wednesday … reporting the procedure “went great”. Aaron’s going to turn 40 years old in December, so a comeback will be no easy task … but he’s got the first hurdle out of the way.

Jimmie Carter, the 39th President will be 99 years old October 1st, and wheels are in motion to ensure that it’s his most meaningful birthday yet.  The result is a grand “Jimmy Carter 99” campaign, asking people around the world to send messages to President Carter — be them birthday wishes, fond memories or tributes — on the Carter Center website or by posting on social media the #JimmyCarter99 hashtag.

Kelsea Ballerini pulled off a fun wardrobe change at the “MTV Video Music Awards” on Tuesday night . . . WHILE she was onstage . . . hidden behind some fog.  If you’re wondering how it happened, Kelsea shared some silly footage from backstage on TikTok, where she’s talking through it . . . but she didn’t quite have it down yet.

And lastly, They announced the first round of performers for the inaugural “People’s Choice Country Awards” . . . and it’s tight.  It includes Blake Shelton, Jelly Roll, Kelsea Ballerini, Kane Brown, Carly Pearce, Dan + Shay, Toby Keith, and Little Big Town.  The show airs September 28th on NBC
