Welcome to The List,

The first trailer for “Super Mario Brothers” dropped yesterday, and Chris Pratt plays the character without an accent.  The movie also stars Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, and Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong.  The movie comes out April 7th .

Ashley McBryde is the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry.  Garth Brooks surprised her yesterday on “CBS Mornings” with an invite.  She accepted and said it would be a great honor of her life. Garth told her, quote, “It’s the longest living family in music history.  You belong in it.  We need you.  You’ll make it stronger for decades to come.”

Darius Rucker is joining the cast of Reba McEntire’s new ABC show ”Big Sky: Deadly Trails”. He is going to play a ”hired gun who works at night like his nocturnal namesake, Possum.”

Jelly Roll has goals..He tells Music Mayhem magazine that he plans on being in the Country Music Hall Of Fame one day. “I’ve always wanted to do country music. This is Nashville to me. I’m all about being a local kid. I’m big about the local causes. I support efforts inside of the community. When it’s all said and done, I want to be in the Country Music Hall of Fame.”

The Daily Star says Tom Cruise’s upcoming space movie may see him do a spacewalk. Universal Pictures chairman Dame Langley says, “We have a great project in development with Tom that does have him taking a rocket to the Space Station. And hopefully he’ll become the first civilian to do a space walk outside. He will play a down-on-his-luck guy who finds himself in the position of being the only person who could save Earth.” Yeah, that sounds like a Tom Cruise movie….Mission Impossible 7 his next movie is in theaters July 14th of next year.

Kenny Chesney and Old Dominion shared what life looks like on the road.  They included tour and behind-the-scenes footage in their new video for “Beer with My Friends”.  Kenny said, quote, “If every picture is a million words, then every cut of this clip is a whole movie!  Every shot means something to us.”

The List for Thursday, February 19th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Travis Kelce is out here setting expectations so high the rest of us are gonna get yelled at for bringing home gas station flowers. He’s reportedly spent $141,000 on pre-wedding gifts for Taylor Swift, including Rolex watches, designer jackets, and daily flower deliveries. Daily. Meanwhile, I forgot my anniversary once and tried to fix it with a breakfast burrito. Travis Kelce just ruined relationships for every man in America.

-----

Lainey Wilson is teasing new music, and the title might be the most Lainey Wilson thing ever. The new single is called “Can’t Sit Still,” which tracks, because she’s been everywhere except my back yard party. She says her friends describe her as “a suitcase with legs,” which honestly sounds like Delta Airlines lost her twice already. No official release date yet, but she says it’s coming “real soon,” so prepare your playlists accordingly.

-----

Bunnie XO just revealed she thought Jelly Roll was a jerk when they first met, which proves once again women love a fixer-upper. She said he had “teddy bear with teeth energy” and sad eyes, and she basically looked at him like a home improvement project from HGTV. Fast forward to now, they’re one of Country music’s biggest power couples. Moral of the story, sometimes the guy who ignores you becomes your husband.

-----

The new Mummy reboot is ditching the Tom Cruise action vibe and going straight for emotional damage. This one’s from the director of Evil Dead Rise, so instead of running from explosions, you’ll be running from your own nightmares. It’s about a girl who disappears and comes back after spending quality time inside a 3,000-year-old coffin. It hits theaters April 17th, and I’ll be watching it from the safety of daylight and denial.

You can catch The List, this afternoon at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
