The List for Friday, November 27th 2020

Welcome To The Black Friday Edition of The List –

After Morgan Wallen was removed as a performer on Saturday Night Live back in October after he was seen partying without a mask at college bars in Alabama one week before his scheduled appearance, the country singer has been re-booked on the show and scheduled to perform on Dec. 5. Tweeting Wednesday “Let’s try this again,” along with a photo sharing the lineup for SNL’s Dec. 5 episode, which will be hosted by Jason Bateman.

Dolly Parton was one of a number of artists to perform during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Thursday morning, singing “Holly Jolly Christmas. Dolly’s performance featured the living legend wearing a rhinestone and fringe gown, standing in a snowy scene accompanied by her band and three backing singers. Even though the parade fell on Thanksgiving, she’s clearly ready to skip right to Christmas, letting out a very festive “Merry Christmas!” at the end of the song.

Johnny Depp has been asked to step down from his role in the Fantastic Beasts franchise and Mads Mikkelsen will now replace him as ‘Grindelwald’. The news may not come as much of a shock to some after Depp lost his libel court case in the United Kingdom on Nov. 2, against now ex-wife Amber Heard. Warner Bros. confirmed the news on Wednesday, as Depp also made a statement of his own earlier this month.

If you were a ‘Saved By The Bell’ fan, is back as a reboot. Elizabeth Berkley talks about how the spark for the rebooted show happened. “I think all of us getting dropped back into that iconic hallway with those red lockers, it was kind of epic. I think if it could be done right we may all be in.” The ‘Saved By The Bell’ reboot is streaming now on Peacock.

And finally, The CDC has changed their quarantine guidelines and Jimmy Fallon takes a poke at it “It looks like the CDC is changing it’s recommendation for how long you should quarantine. it isn’t based on science, it’s just that there’s nothing left to binge on Netflix. We already watched the chess show…we’re good.”

The List for Monday, April 6th 2026

Welcome to The List,

WKRP is finally becoming a real thing after 48 years, and radio people everywhere just felt a chill. The legendary sitcom made Cincinnati famous without even having a real station. Now the actual call letters are being sold, and someone’s bringing WKRP home. Somewhere, turkeys are nervous and DJs are smiling.

-----

Carrie Underwood says the secret to staying sane in fame is faith. She says the industry can make everything about you real fast. Faith keeps her grounded when everything else is trying to lift her too high. So basically, humility is her real number one hit.

-----

Zach Top says a bad round of golf can wreck his whole mood, which feels very relatable. Instead of throwing clubs, he writes songs about it like a classy human. Turns out his sadness already had a soundtrack, his own song “Between the Ditches.” Nothing like turning a bogey into a ballad.

-----

Britney Spears’ life is still headed to the big screen, even with recent drama swirling around her. Universal says they’re in it for the long haul and ready to tell the full story. Apparently, that includes love life chaos, music fame, and everything in between. Somewhere, Justin Timberlake is allegedly pacing and stress-eating popcorn.

You can catch The List, weekday afternoons at 4:20 with Jonathan Knight. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1

The List for Friday, April 3rd 2026

Welcome to The List,

Taylor Swift’s wedding guest list is already causing drama, and we’re not even at the cake yet. Apparently, Kim Kardashian is a hard no after all that Kanye chaos. Sources say Taylor wants zero bad vibes on her big day. Which honestly makes sense, nobody wants awkward small talk at the open bar. Moral of the story, bring a gift… not baggage.

-----

Megan Moroney just proved pre-show routines don’t have to be all zen and candles. She says it’s loud, messy, and basically a backstage sleepover. Music blasting, friends everywhere, chaos level high. Because if it gets too serious, she starts overthinking everything. So yeah, sometimes the best prep is just controlled madness.

-----

Jo Dee Messina is leveling up her tour snacks. Gone are the soda and basic chicken, hello protein everything. We’re talking shakes, bars, Quest chips, hydration. And yes, still a glass of wine because balance matters. Fitness goals…

-----

Julia Roberts might be heading back to rom-com land, and fans are ready. She and Richard Gere have said no to Pretty Woman 2. But a fresh romantic comedy reunion is back on the table. Because sometimes you just need that classic chemistry again.
