The List for Friday, May 7th 2021

Welcome to The List,

Happy Mothers Day this Sunday….Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild Loves Being A Mom … “There isn’t anything that means more to me than sitting on the bench and eating a grilled cheese sandwich with this little guy that calls me ‘Mama.’ I went from dreaming about him to eating grilled cheese sandwiches and ketchup with him, and I could never have dreamed this up – how good it could be, and it just gets better every day.”

Justin Moore Treasures The Time He Went Hunting With His Mother Probably my favorite, memory was, I always hunted with my grandpa and he wanted to get me my first deer. When I was, I guess 13 years old, my mom and I went hunting one day and I killed my first deer with my mom.” That’s some bonding right there…

The List for Thursday, February 5th 2026

Welcome to The List,

Rumors are flying that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have allegedly set a wedding date. A so-called source says the planning is “military-level precise,” which tracks, because Taylor hates surprises and Travis runs NFL playbooks for a living. Pop music, professional football, and Hollywood elite all in one room. Locked down, protected, unforgettable. Basically the most intense group project ever attempted.

-----

Former Bachelor host Chris Harrison is launching a new dating show for people who want a “traditional, marriage-minded partnership built on commitment and shared values.” Which apparently is now considered edgy programming. Somewhere, reality TV just gasped. This is not roses and drama. This is compatibility and emotional maturity.

-----

Before Luke Combs made it big, he had $200 left in his bank account. That money went toward mastering one song, “Hurricane.” He releases it, sells about 10,000 copies the first week, and uses the cash to finish the rest of the album. Then pitches it to labels. And that, kids, is how you bet on yourself and win.

-----

Toby Keith, Kenny Rogers, and Ed Harris are being inducted into the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. The ceremony happens in April in Oklahoma City. They’re joining legends like George Strait, Brooks & Dunn, Kurt Russell, and Burt Reynolds. That is a hall with serious swagger. Cowboy hats optional. Legends required.

Catch The List, with Jonathan Knight weekday afternoon at 4:20. Only on Iowa’s BEST Country KIX 101.1
