The List for Friday, March 17th 2023

Welcome to The List,

Do REAL lightsabers exist?  Not exactly.  But at this year’s South by Southwest Festival, Disney Parks and Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro showed off the next best thing. It’s a lightsaber with a “blade” that actually expands and retracts, just like the ones in the “Star Wars” movies.  And it makes noises like them too.  Now the bad news:  At the moment, Disney has no plans to sell these things.  Check out the post here…

Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen was attacked outside a Florida hotel on Monday night.  He was standing outside the Four Seasons Hotel in Fort Lauderdale when a 19-year-old man ran at him at full speed and knocked him to the ground, where he hit his head. He was caught later, vandalizing cars in the parking lot of another hotel, and charged with abuse of an elderly or disabled adult with great harm. There’s no word on Allen’s condition.

Luke Combs was on “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast and told Joe that couldn’t imagine himself being a country star when he first moved to Nashville . . . because all the singers at that time “were hot.”  Quote, “We’re talking 6’5″, abs . . . I mean, I didn’t have chance.” He would have been happy just sweeping floors in a studio just to be around music.  Besides, I’ve never had someone request a song because the artist has great abs.  If they did, I’d hang up.

Miranda Lambert has spent two decades with Sony Music Nashville, but this week she announced that she’s leaving.  She thanked Sony in an Instagram post, and added, “I can’t wait to see what my next adventure holds.” It doesn’t mean she’s LEAVING country music…just the label.

—–

Cher wants to go back to work and may do a residency in Las Vegas. A source tells Radar Online “A few years ago, she considered hanging up her hat, but she’s still got so much energy that she wants to go back to work. She surfs, rides a bike, and walks two to four miles a day. And she makes sure to exercise five times a week.”  With all the money she’s spending on her 29 year old boyfriend, she probably feels she NEEDS to go back to work..

And lastly, Parker McCollum is going to perform before the Ally 400 NASCAR race at Nashville Super Speedway on June 25th.

The List for Tuesday, March 31st 2026

Welcome to The List,

Taylor Swift has officially entered her glittery legal era again. A Las Vegas performer says Taylor’s use of “The Life Of A Showgirl” is stomping all over her own brand, “Confessions of a Showgirl.” She’s suing for trademark infringement, wants damages, and an injunction too.

Only Kid Rock could turn a poolside salute into a military investigation. The Army says two Blackhawk helicopters near his Tennessee mansion were just on a Nashville training route, but now they’re checking into why they hovered there. Kid says nobody’s getting in trouble and called it pretty neat. Nothing says casual Tuesday like cannonballs, patriotism, and two black helicopters hovering near your house…

-----

Riley Green is stacking side quests like a pro. He’s making his TV debut on Marshals in mid-April. And because sleep is for other people, he’s also reportedly opening a second Duck Blind bar in Gatlinburg. At this point Riley’s building a country music cinematic universe.

-----

Thomas Rhett says one of his favorite parts of touring is trying wild new foods on the road, which sounds adventurous and expensive. Meanwhile Dylan Scott keeps it a little more backyard chaos at home, admitting he’ll wander into the kitchen at midnight and cook a full meal like it’s noon. His wife wakes up confused; he’s making dinner round two. That’s not a snack, that’s a second shift.

OUR KIX CRITTER OF THE WEEK, PIEREE!

He is about a two year old tabby who came to the ARL as a stray. He came in with an injury to his hip, but thankfully it was the serious and has fully healed. That's when the ARL staff realized Pierre is a cuddy bug who loves to snuggle. They believe he would be good with other cats too. Since Pierre is the KIX Critter his adoption fee is half off the regular price of $50, you can make him your couch buddy for $25.00!! More info
